Kodak ektra's camera is not good. Check out the reviews. I would wait for Xiaomi Mi Note 2. Those specs for 450 $ is insane.

LeEco uses android, so you can sideload Google play on it. Not sure if it comes pre-installed because China is not really a fan of Google. However, leEco is a huge Chinese company, like amazon, and is trying to do with multiple multimedia devices what amazon failed to do with the firephone.

The phones are dirt cheap. You can get a leEco le2 for about $150, with a coupon. That's stunning, given the flagship specs. I'd buy one and if it works poorly, so what, it was dirt cheap and I can always go to mercury when available. I have money to spare!

This is all hypothetical. The phones don't appear in America until November 2. Check out reviews or specs on phonearena or gsmarena. They are decent.

The company is big enough and serious enough about the phones to support them. Probably not as secure as dtek, but that's a tradeoff.

On the other hand, if you like cameras, check out the Kodak ektra.

They have huge sale on 11/2 for US release. Leo pro 3 for $299. That has flagship spec snapdragon 821.

Maybe I read the wrong ektra reviews then. At any rate, I'm actually quite happy with the passport camera. Some people complain about it but if you handle it well, it works just fine. Nothing beats a REAL camera of course, but the passport is plenty good enough. And with the new 200gb SD card I just got, thanks to crackberry's notice, I can take pictures forever.

Although the specs for the length of the Priv and DTEK50 are the same, the DTEK50 is about 1/8 inch longer and it's unlikely that Mercury will not be longer than the DTEK50.

the DTEK50 is that long, I looked it up and it seems the Priv is slightly longer, but much the same size? how big is the DTEK60 supposed to be? these phones are huge!

Do you think it's worth waiting for? How much better will it be than the classic? I really hope they don't take away the tool belt and trackpad and call and end buttons, my favorite part. I really just want an android enabled classic with a slightly better camera...

Yes, that is correct. I mixed them up. BlackBerry's specifications for the length of the Priv and the DTEK were both 5.79 inches last time I checked, but the DTEK50 is about 1/8 inch shorter.

I handled the Priv in Bell's kiosk and I own a DTEK50. The Priv was huge in comparison and that was why I didn't buy it. It wouldn't fit in my jacket pockets . The DTEK50 is about as large as I would want to go (fits in pockets and my hand) so I hope the Mercury isn't huge.

I wish mercury is size of classic but android doesn't use 4:3 screen ratio.

    It doesn't. Mercury has a 3:2 screen.

He was saying if it was the size of the Classic, for the screen to fit it would have to be 4:3 (since no toolbelt it won't have to be 1:1)

I wouldn't even consider Xiaomi. Not when state security has access through the backdoors.

You can install any modified android skins, be it note series BlackBerry series or some custom made ones. Pretty cool if you spend the time.

By the way Mercury won't be able to take HDR photos I guess. GeekBench has a Cross at the HDR mode.

Do you guys think that 12 MP back camera is the same one that samsung Note 7/S7 uses.

no. like in android. Cyanogen mod, etc etc.

or use original MIUI global rom.

basically - anything what is supported. if you want (and are able to) - made by yourself.

(In My Opinion) No, since the 'Mercury' and Note 7 have different mega-pixel counts.

Give me this phone. Love it - prefer battery life than performance as long as processing speed is adequate. Really just a CDMA Passport would do just fine. Still rocking a Classic and love it... can't wait to see if this device actually drops.

I'm pretty sure the rumored camera was supposed to have a 18mp camera right? Not that that is canon or anything and they could've changed it 20 times in development but thats what I thought it was

If you buy for the camera, wait for the dxomark report. Right now pixel is best, but the priv and z10(?) are listed among top 50 phone cameras. I'm sure dtek60 will be up there somewhere...
