Having used both in the past, much prefer LCD. I like the truer unsaturated colours.

Curious as to why you prefer LCD.

AMOLED delivers "true black" , minimal power usage.

What's the upside, other than a cooler temperature display, in color replication?

Edit -Not being sarcastic. Haven't owned a LCD in ages. Passport >1.5 - 2 years ago (sold at a significant profit).

Considering the fact my Priv already has clearly visible AMOLED burn-outs in certain areas after just 14 months of use, I'd rather go with a LCD screen. Once the industry manages to deal with these burn-out issues, I'd take another look at AMOLED.

Saw already a priv at a retailer for demonstration purposes and yes, it looked like a plasma-screen ....

LCDs render a way more accurate color range, well balanced and not saturated, this is why I would never get an Amoled screen for my computer or as a TV. Besides, being power consumption the most important thing for me on a smartphone, I hoped the Mercury would feature an Amoled screen... but it's an LCD, unfortunately (another reason why I'll be mad if the price goes higher than 400€: even low range Lumias sport and Amoled screen!).

I hope it's LCD as well. I detest current Amoled implementations.

Lcd gives a more true to life image regarding colours, where an amoled pops more due to deeper blacks and "fuller" colours. I like to think of the difference as like watching a real movie (lcd) and watching an animation movie (amoled)
Both have pros and cons and I certainly wouldn't be put off by and lcd panel

Heart says LCD, brain says Amoled.
With that said.. I'm hoping the people at TCL/BB use their brain.

I don't know. I love LCD if screen resolution is high, but I love the black colours and battery life with AMOLED.

All videos and photos indicate that I will likely have an LCD screen.

Amoleds have a green or blue tint when they are turned off where LCDs have more like a grey tint.

    Just speculating.
