Does that mean BB10 phones can be released earlier

It would take a few months after going into production for the phones utilizing those chips. Maybe about a month or 2. So if Q3. Then a month after that maybe.

I'm sure they would have sent prototypes before having the phone go into production.

And I'm not too sure how the processor game works. But RIM should be able to get their hands on a small amount of the chips for the prototypes before the chips into production.

Anyway, here's my BB London specs.
  • 4.x'' screen (4.3 if they can keep it in the parameters of my dimensions)
  • nice 720p resolution
  • under dimensions (or atleast close to) 5.00'' x 2.5''
  • high dpi/ppi
  • dual core TI OMAP or Qualcomm S4. Either would do
  • 1GB of RAM. More would be better but 1GB is good enough
  • removable storage. SDXC supported preferably
  • good battery
  • light and thin
  • NFC for sure

Agreed...

4.3" display?

anything over 4.0" is ridiculous, anything 3.5-4.0" I would have to seriously consider as long as it touches the bezel, 3.5" and you almost certainly have my money..

I want a phone that slides discreetly in my pocket, not Zack Morris's phone for 2012...hence why I could careless for how crazy Android's have gone...pissing contest is all it is.

The resolution already has been confirmed to mimic Playbook 1024x600

Only thing I care about is RIM incorporating something like WiDi into the device. Cyclone will never be made available, and if RIM continues to refuse to be able to stream multimedia direct to your TV, projector or monitor through a simple wireless device, might as well fold now because they are WAY too far behind any chance of technology.

I'd love to see the S4 used...

Snapdragon S4 Camera Revealed

if they are launching Q3/Q4 I'd rather see them at least at part with the competition..

Hi there

My first post here.

As tech fan i'm, also Systems Engineer, i must say that HW specs for BB10 is good enough if the SW can take advantage of that HW. No matter if u have a QuadCore, or SixCore, NCore system, or a huge amount of RAM, if the SW adove that HW, is no good, that HW is a ... RIM need to pulish his OS, to the point of guaranteed, a smoth interface between the User, SW and HW.

Best Regards

I think you're spot on. I think the real key will be to limit the form factors. I'd like to see the new 'Bold' become the candybar phone and the current 'Bold' formfactor called the 'Icon' series. I think whatever will be the bold should be their forward looking design but you just know there will still be a ton of people who love the current design. With that said the less form factors there are out there the less of a pain in the for developers it will be screen-wise.

True. They should only have 3.

Slab. Slider. Qwerty. Then when the newer phones come out, they should still keep the last years version on the market. The way iPhone does it.

So they'll be considered lower end.
