Early impressions are the phone looks slick, much nicer then the Z10. The soft grip on the back feels nice in the hand, to the point build quality is top notch. Screen is nice and looks better then my classic or kids Z30. First thoughts if I still had my z10 I would upgrade to this for the price.

Help me make a review, pick a Blackberry native app or game an Android app or game an I will record the review using your app suggestions. I will also show of the sound quality.

My local Telus had the Leap plugged in and on Display, they had 11 in stock and the nice young lady told me she fielded a few calls about the Leap!

I would have to say yes, undoubtedly on of the best 720x1280 screens I've seen!

All very subjective but no I prefer the look of my Z10. Still waiting to see a real working phone. Cudos to Telus. They are the one carrier that actually tries to sell the BlackBerry.

You don't have to look just as pixels and res. Pick two TVs both 1920*1080: one costs 400$ and the other one 800$. I'm not saying the second one is the best because it costs more, but usually the quality is better even at the same res.. Think about that ;-)

It's the same screen size and same screen resolution, but different tech. Z30 has a Super Amoled display, while Leap has an IPS LCD.

I prefer the Z30 display over LCD of Z10, but maybe the Leap is nicer. It is 2-3 years' newer hardware over Z10 after all.

I'm curious to check one at the Telus store under my office next week. Hopefully it's on display alongside their live demo units of Passport & Classic.

So true! I called four Bell Stores and four Rogers stores yesterday to inquire about buying a Leap (on contract or outright) 0 / 8 stores had any in stock. One Bell rep even asked what it was? Should have tried Telus instead.

Ah okay, didn't realize they had moved away from the Super Amoled.

Yep its true. I was just under the assumption it was using the exact same screen. Didn't realize it was an IPS LCD vs the Super Amoled on the Z30.

Tried it out today at Telus. Love Telus for this.

It replaced the Passport in the Telus BlackBerry display.

The Leap looks much better live. The screen is better than the Z30 in my opinion.

All in all it is a very nice phone BUT...

It was right next to a Moto X and for $50 bucks more, the Moto X feels and looks like an iPhone 6.

If your Z10 breaks, the Leap is quite acceptable as a replacement and as a fleet phone. It does seem very very sturdy for hard use.

Yup I can back this up Leap IPS screen is by all standards superior to the z30.
Has a much better feel and touch than any other budget phone I've ever held.
Yup any moto, lumia and iPhone C.rap variant.

well you did say they didn't have the same screen and you still did have a point. even in that TV example, both teams can have the same size and resolution, but one could use an LCD/Plasma while the other an LED screen, hence the difference in price.
