I had a Z10 a while back, now have an old Q10. I'm wondering what the difference in performance is from the original BB10 launch devices and the Leap. Is it substantial enough to justify buying one?

Son's Leap runs smoother than his aging Z10. The battery life on the Leap makes the upgrade worth it. He reports that Android apps run better on the Leap too. He has 10.3.1 on the Z10.

Can you download netflix from amazon on the leap? I've heard passport owners complaining that amazon blocked netflix for the passport, or is it for all BB10 devices?

I would say the Leap runs a hair smoother simply because it comes stock with 10.3+. Otherwise no difference other than much better battery and screen.

Leap also has no NFC and magnet compass.

My main complaints with the Z10 is lack of support for OtG USB for audio and lack.of FM antenna. Does the Leap address either of those?

Cant speak to the leap but netflix works fine on my Z30 and cant imagine why it would not work on a Leap. Have you considered the z30 as it can be had for les than a leap with better specs. Also great battery.
I believe I downloaded Netflix from Mobile 1 or maybe Opera mini.

You download Netflix from the Google Snap store which you have sideload. It is easy to sideload though and it take a couple minutes to get it on your BB10 device.

Brand new Leap can be had now for $169 on Amazon. That's a lot of phone for $169. Currently still using the Z10, but considering getting a Leap while they can still be had.

I've been looking at buying a Leap on Amazon.com. They're going for $169. I would have to switch to AT&T to use it though.

Don't do it! I moved from a Z10 to a Leap and I'm not at all impressed.

The Leap is slow and sluggish with no NFC or compass.

    It's a total waste of money - a downgrade.

I used Z10 and Leap side by side for 8 months. Leap could last twice as long on battery even though I used Leap for twice as many phone calls. Bigger screen, better speed just because it seemed better optimized with each update from 10.2.xxx to 10.3.xxx. Two phones started out close in beginning and Leap slowly left Z10 in the dust. Now my Passport leaves Leap behind. The Priv will eventually be optimized to a point where I'll dump my passport.

Really? I had the opposite experience. I had my Z10 side by side. And I found out that the Leap is noticeably faster in terms of app loading times. These two phones were set up exactly the same with same apps. And I hard reset my phone regularly to keep it clean.

I think it helps that the Leap already comes with 10.3.1 when the Z10 was upgraded to that os. It must make a difference that the hardware is more optimized for the Leap.

Yeah, I would trade my z10 for your leap too, cant stand the battery life and the z10, and the screen is so small.

I did buy a Leap and changed my Z10. And there is nothing wrong with the Leap itself. And until a few months ago I would have advocated for the Leap...as I initially did.

Now the problem is BlackBerry itself and the fact that this company is seemingly trying to do everything possible to alienate the customers it still has left.

BB10 and it's devices have no future I can see...

I just wish BlackBerry went ahead and pulled the plug already...please?!
