    Hello everyone,
I wanted to ask you guys if it's possible to put android on Leap. Not just apps but the OS in self.
I'm not a blackberry enthusiast but the specs and the price on the leap are just amazing.

The leap with Android would be a nice device. Wish it were possible but not.

Android needs at least a quad-core processor to operate quickly and efficiently. I don't think it's a good idea to set aside a fluid OS to a crappy one.

    Incorrect.

Plus, isn't this very thing (supposed "need" for multiple cores) one of the discussed drawbacks of BB10 itself?

The Leap is best as is, with BlackBerry 10. If you need android, BlackBerry makes those too. Priv.

I've got to disagree with those who say the Leap + Android OS would be good. Then it wouldn't be a BlackBerry. All we need is an updated and improved Android Runtime and it will be perfect. As the OP says, he is not a BlackBerry enthusiast ... so go and buy an Android phone?

A company I know of switched to the Samsung Galaxy Prime devices after BlackBerry stopped making BBOS 7 devices. They either had no interest in BB10 or, I suspect, BlackBerry never bothered trying to market the Leap.

I checked out the Galaxy Prime and it looks like a good deal for the price. Shame that BlackBerry couldn't find a way to make affordable handsets to sell to businesses. Microsoft are another company that are able to make affordable handsets. These are not all-things-to-all-people products trying to 'topple the dominance of Apple', they are just marketing a particular product to a particular niche.

It just seems like BlackBerry aren't capable of doing it, even when it comes to keeping business customers!
