To me, it was kind of....not sure how to say it.... but not as premium an event as what Apple/Samsung do for launch that's for sure.

Very awkward to say the least... They spent time on the Hub and DTEK app which hasn't changed since the PRIV... why not show the split screen mode or how Nougat will work on it?

JeromeM - we can be honest. It was **** poor. Started 20 mins late. Thurber came on spouting nonsense about how great DTEK is (it's almost useless. It's far less useful than he makes out). Thurber then started talking rubbish about his daughter's social media usage (how that relates to the DTEK app I have no idea). Then we get told the price (too expensive for what it is) and when it's released (April). Poor show in my books. This is destroying Blackberry's legacy.

and £499??? It's DOA in the UK. It's going to flop HARD.

The price in Europe for a snapdragon 625 phone is around the 400 euro. The keyone is 599. I hope it gets a price drop after the launchdate.

Yeah, while I appreciate all the hype that Crackberry has done and I know there was a technical glitch with the stream so maybe I missed some of the "good parts" .

Available in April means available in May or June in the USA. A total joke. I was so excited for this product, but I think this Barcelona show is the swan song for BB. The price isn't bad. But it should have been available for orders today.
The presentation will make us the laughing stock of the tech world. Starting 20 minutes late, and not being able to stream one third of the show makes BB look ridiculous.

Presentation was fine. Can't compare to apple they have a much larger crowd watching their launches and they like to bull**** a lot haha. They got right to the point it was fine.

Disappointing that it won't be available until April, also a very disappointing price. $549.99 US for a device with a SD 625? I paid $639 Canadian for my DTEK60, which has an 820 chipset. Hard to justify for that price.

Yeah, disapointing for sure, I wonder if it's a different feeling those in attendance have about it.

Very poor articulation by the speakers. None of them should be presenters. I was also disappointed by the lack of content and it was very unprofessional to start the presentation so late, especially when you consider they only had four people with 20 minutes total talking time between all of them.

I agree. The energy level judging from the "applause" was pretty unremarkable. Also, too bad all the speakers had to look down to read the speeches. Takes away from them having really written what they were saying.

Cbk only appeared on stage and 10 seconds later i lost the live stream. Took me ages to get it to work even when i went direct over to youtube. No surprise with the price i knew it would be more than the dtek60.

The best part of the launch was the concept ad of the blackberry at the beginning of the event. Priv i guess will be my last BlackBerry device

Agreed... this needed to be an 'oh my, this IS a different BlackBerry' kind of launch... in the end, pricing in meh and release date horrible. That said, I'll still buy one the second I can get my hands on one...

Only thing that could have made it more unbearable would have been to listen to Chen fumble his way through a speech. I remember the Classic launch. A debacle.

Underwhelming at best. By the time it comes out in April all the hype will be dead and the S8 will be all the rage. Seriously, what's taking so long? This phone has been in development for nearly two years now.

TCL will continue BB's legacy of incompetence.

Depending on if things change between now and launch and if there's pre-order incentives this might be one of the first devices I choose to actually wait to buy it when the price drops. I still want this device but I might be willing to wait.

I was all fired up to see a great presentation. Kevin did his job, but I think the information someone selected to convey was poorly chosen i.e. we didn't need to hear the security info in detail. I think an actual hands on with the phone by Kevin would have been received well. We needed to have more enthusiasm and hype during the live streaming.
