Hi all, I need to update my z30 urgently ideally for a new BB device, and I dont like the Priv or passport cos are too big for me. Any of you with reliable information on the Hamburg release date?? do you believe it is going to be from here to September??. I dont understand why Blackberry keeps so secrecy on revealing their devices release date.

    Thanks.

Originally ROME the PKB device was suppose to arrive "around" September, and the other device all touch HAMBURG would be later in the fiscal year. Feb/March of 2017. There have been rumors that the Hamburg might be sooner...

If you can wait, see what Chen says at the end of the Month during the next fiscal report and meeting with shareholders.

I think the secrecy is that aren't really all that sure either....

"Hamburg" (Full touch) could launch in August 2016.

"Rome" (Qwerty) will probably launch a little later around October 2016

I'm looking forward to seeing the Rome, it will be a good option for when whatsapp stops working, I hope the Rome comes out within this year and isn't too highly priced because i'm going to have to buy it unlocked because no phone network in ireland stocks BlackBerry's and they even told me last year that they were phasing them out (it took them about a week and everything and any trace of blackberry was gone). As you can probably tell from my signature i'm using a Bold 9900 which i recently started using again, i would love for the Rome to be similar to the 9900 or Classic, a tool belt would be perfect, if people want a bigger screen they can get the Priv, i want a tool belt on the Rome haha.

If you don't like the Priv's size you are not going to like Hamburg.

    Priv: 5.4" Curved
    Hamburg: 5.2" Flat.

I meant I dont like privs size when it is slided (adn it make no sense buying the priv if you are not going to use the pkb)

Personal preference. I love the pkb and love to be able to use a pkb or a keyboard generally without having it covered 1/4 of my screen. The slide mechanism is lovely aswell and sure is an attention catcher don't mind the size

I love it how somebody asks this type of question in the forum and people just pipe in with their interpretation of the latest rumor.

Nobody knows when these devices will be released except that Chen said he hopes before the 'year end'....

No one has reliable information around here... just regurgitated information from other BlackBerry/tech blogs.

Chen said 2 Android device coming "this year", so following BlackBerry's trends, most likely later in the year. LATE... in the year.

Blackberry has secrecy because they aren't juggernauts in the mobile industry like they use to be.

One thing you can count on. Blackberry will launch new devices behind schedule. If they say September, anticipate (2) delays that will take it through 2016 to 2017. Possibly December 2016, but I would bet on January/February. Whatever specs they have slated today as mid range will be low range by the fall. They may need to adjust to those changes.
