The New BlackBerry
Hopefully not DTEK70
BlackBerry Key
-keyboard
-key back into market
-key as in lock/key like security
My vote
Mercury's been the best name so far.
Why Not keep BlackBerry's last name be great why not
!!!!!!!!!!!! XPRESS !!!!!!!!!!!!
What I Came up with..
This is similar to what I came up with. EXPRESS, because Steve Cistulli of CTL in one of his tweets mentioned the new phone as being "imPRESSive. But I like Dragnet Sound's idea, XPRESS even better. Either way the word has great double meaning. Express as in Quick, and communicate as in give expression.
My other idea is: Phoenix.
KeyTEK
Perfect! Blackberry Press would be my 2nd vote
Classic, Q10, Bold 9900, Bold 9000...do u notice the pattern? :-)
lol oh I sure hope not!!
Mercury is already a good name for me..
@Sigewif Sorry, never saw the posts, cause So many. And only pop on CrackBerry from time to time. The name just made sense to me because Of it is the final Call for the BlackBerry !! XPRESS !! Train All aboard!!
Kinda shows that some of us are on the same page I guess.
I wanted to shorten the word too.
I also thought Passport SKNY (skinny)
I think it might be called DTEK 70...
if I go by the logic of DTEK naming what I can come up with is DTEK 55 or something since it's better than 50 and lousier than 60 specswise.
If not, I personally like to call it
Blackberry Shield
Blackberry Tact (Tactile)
Blackberry Stroke (Keystroke, but sounds kinda kinky LOL)
Blackberry Rise (Rise of the BB brand)
Coming from somebody who has a Marketing degree, I think because everyone who knows of this phone already knows it as the "Mercury," I think the smartest move is to officially call it the Blackberry Mercury just so they don't confuse potential buyers.
There are 4 steps to a successful product:
(1) Awareness - As stated above, they've done well to drum up interest in the public eye and the public already knows it as the Mercury. Calling it something else will only confuse people, so call it the Mercury.
(2) Value - People need to see value in the product and "in their minds" it needs to seem worth it to buy.
(3) Availability - It needs to be easily available for them to purchase
(4) After Purchase Customer Service - after going through the forums, I think A LOT of problems a lot of people are having when switching to Android from BB10 are a result of not being familiar enough with android (ie things not updating or working temperamentally =could be an issue with androids app-power saving feature restricting background use, or some other cause that can be fixed with some troubleshooting)
Blackberry ICON for its iconic qwerty keyboard!
I don't really care what its called.
TCL BlackBerry Powered By Android Press DTEK70 Mercury
Thank goodness for your instructional post since there are so many people on here without that ever so impressive BS degree known as Marketing....
BlackBerry Endgame
Since it's the last in house design.
C'mon man.... :)
You actually posted first. I thought of it but didn't post it. I have a Priv which I love, so I am trying to figure out how to justify getting one of these too. LOL. I do have an extra number I can use which is currently on a back up hand me down phone.
Presion
Alcatel KeyPressThing 5
That would be the version without the BlackBerry software.
