After read specs I saw a lot of bands listed, maybe we are talking of a "global version"? Or it will be different for each continent like the most part of phones?

That's sort of a *****..... 17 is in active use by AT&T, and this means you must choose between AT&T compatibility and Verizon compatibility. USV2 will be interchangeable between T-Mobile and Verizon, but will slam you on AT&T's ExRange LTE, which is bad. If you do V1 then you're locked out of Verizon entirely since there's no CDMA in that version.

Yeah, I get the Canada, LatAM etc version -- but why would you leave 17 out of US V2?!

That set of bands makes me wonder why did they even bother with the EMEA version. US V1 is a superset of it.

I'm guessing so they could make a useless distinction between American carriers and the rest of the world.

Probably Verizon b-ing and whining about how that would make the phone compatible with its competitors. American CDMA carriers are such special snowflakes.

Which means a US V1 should work in Europe. Interesting..

In the event they get around to VoLTE the distinction should go away, unless Verizon/Sprint keep acting up about which bands are in which variant.

A more glaring omission to me is the lack of Band 66, so Freedom/Wind/whatever the hell it is now is still shafted when it comes to new BlackBerry phones.

And Videotron. They also won a few blocks of GHI.

Does this mean that both US V1 and EMEA will work with any European carrier? I know nothing about these things, could someone shed some light on it?

Yes, almost... You can look up charts on the bands and see which country uses which band (it's in Wiki and elsewhere). They differ between country and part of the world but there is a ton of overlap.
