I disagree. I love my LG Urbane. It's great for notifications and quick replies. I use it to manage my smarthome stuff as well. Oh yeah and managing my Sonos stuff is great.

I also disagree. I have been a smart watch supporter since the original Galaxy Gear days. Been sporting various ones with various OSs ever since. I feel naked without my Pebble paired to my Passport, or my Moto, LG, or Gear paired to my Android.

I have two pebbles and a moto 360. They allow me to get my notifications in stealth mode, when
I shouldn't even have my phone on me! A very useful gimmick, therefore.

I also disagree. I use the Sony smartwatch 2 paired up to the dtek50 every day and think it's a great combination to get notifications etc even when I shouldn't have my phone on ;-)

I think they are useful especially if you are an active person or a tradesmen . It's a glorified pager.
Oh I remember my Casio watch I had like the one shown.

See that's my problem, kind-of. I don't generally wear a watch. I only put one on when traveling away from home for a week or more. It is an Altimeter watch and goes for months on a coin 2032. It does not need to be recharged. So while I really like some of the ones that I see now - it is hard to justify.

Chances of this happening are close to zero. Would take tons of R&D away from the phone business they are trying to rebuild.

? TCL already does smartwatches... You think it would be costly to to rebrand one of those?

Wouldn't any Android Wear work with the KEYone? Also put me in the Smartwatches are useful camp! Current sporting an Apple Watch, but I've had a Martian, a Pebble and a Pebble Time, and a Moto 360! I also owned a Hot Watch for about a minute, but quickly gave it away!

User of a Fossil Q Nate with my Priv. About as smart as I need it to be in that it handles notifications and is a pedometer. Looks like a normal watch and is extremely durable. Aside from that though, I would assume that there are plenty of smartwatches, especially Androidwear, in which to choose from. I do not see how this would be a good expenditure for them.

Pebble had the most bbry like ui and workflow, i have a samsung which looks cool and has a great lookin screen for a hockey puck on my wrist but is not nearly as helpful for managing work stuff reminders, messaging and calendars. Seems android got too much into the health tech side. But bbry and pebble are dead - so what do i know.

Watches should be used to tell time and date. Smart watches are absolutely unnecessary gimmicks.

    That's very matter of fact.

I think everyone is afforded their own opinion on the subject.

I could say smartphones are a gimmick. Everyone should use landlines and encyclopedias/books.

The actual matter of fact is that for some it makes them more efficient and is a useful tool.

I have a Garmin GPS watch for golf and working out that allows for notifications and every morning it is the first thing I turn off. I hate getting notifications on my wrist. Probably the amount of work email along with personal and texts that I receive on a daily basis. My watch would never quiet down.

I also find it a touch rude when someone stops to read their watch mid conversation or in the middle of a meeting.
