Why doesnt Blackberry add an extra button to the "toolbelt" -- a "HUB" button!??????

Instead of just having 3 buttons, add a 4th one that lets you access the hub whereever you are in the phone.

Its basically a replacement for swiping up then right to access the hub in BB10

    Anyone like this idea!?

I think it'd be better for branding if the KEYOne had a "Hub" key right where those 3 buttons are tho. And i also think it'll be more practical to have it there.

But you only have to swipe up for the HUB as it is. Or set any key on the pkb for HUB.

What the KO needs is to be about 150 bucks cheaper.

So what would you get rid of?

Drop to the 425 SoC? 2GB ram? Crappy camera? Lower the build quality? Something has to give.

The KEYone will have a swipe to Hub feature from the middle android button, you can pin it to the convenience key, and I myself will also have my 'm' key bring me to the hub like my days on the 9900. Heck, I'll have it on my dock as well so I can swipe up widget it. That's 3 different ways to quickly access the hub right there.

Yeah, nice thing about Android is all the customization, but sometimes you have to dig for the good stuff. There's a few other apps out there that'll help you regain gesture control. Swipeup utility comes to mind and there's another one you have to get from a third party source called LMT. Set an area, press on it, and a radial wheel opens where you can customize up to 24 (or very close to that) apps and settings between regular and long press on the buttons that expand. It's fluid, too. I've tried others and they were clunky. LMT is slick.

Oh. So the swipe up gesture is already do-able?

Yes. The BlackBerry Android Launcher has 3 swipe up gestures that can be assigned to launch any app - HUB included.

Or you could get a launcher like action launcher or nova and program it so a swipe from the left opens hub like it did in BB10.

    That's what I did

But, they should and could have had added the old BB hardkey as a nod to the pre BB10 days.

    That would have been sweet.

Nothing in TCL's history would suggest they have large margins.

Can't believe that their margin is only at 5 - 10 %, that leads to costs-share of 500 USD / EUR whatever. No, a physical keyboard is a cost-driver, but not that much!

Perhaps it is time now for TCL for increasing their margin. With a valuable Blackberry-brand this could be possible.

My main concern is if the HUB performs same as in BB10? Because I've heard that when you try to read whatsapp message from hub it actually opens the Whatsapp instead just openings the message from hub. Is this true Conite?

Nothing has to give it all. It's overpriced. DTEK60 for cheaper is an example of that.

And make no profit? What would be the point for tcl to put all there time and money to manufacture a phone and sell it at a lost, for a companies brand there already paying to use?

The DTEK60 was a rebranded phone. It wasn't manufactured for BlackBerry. Plus they saved money using a less expensive screen, no rgb led and a few other things.

Don't fix what isn't broken! I love the DTEK60 hardware. Feels far more solid in hand than the priv, which was the last true hardware from blackberry. The DTEK60 boasts a 1440x2560 AMOLED display. I'll take AMOLED over LCD any day. My opinion of course.

RGB LED was never important for me, as long at it was a red blinking light i am happy. I know how important that feature is to others though. Still doesn't justify price in my opinion.

I'm not knocking it, just staring it was cheaper for them to put a new name on the a5 and call it a dtek60 then build the keyone.

We really don't, but given the fact that it was probably excess acatel/tcl inventory they had to make something, rebranding it and selling it as a BlackBerry
