    Hey folks,

I just noticed accidentally that MediaMarkt in Germany now sells the Silver KeyONE for 379 EUR instead of the 599 EUR for which it originally retailed.

And that after less than half a year. So much for the incredible demand, BB claimed to have generated. Still love this PKB, but the phone was way overpriced, QA used to be a disaster and now the upgrade policy seems to suck too. Wish I only had payed 379 EUR.

In Canada on amazon, the black edition is now back up to $760 from $650 a day ago. You would need to be clinically insane to pay that much for a phone with such low end specs at the end of 2017.

Is it clinically insane to want / need a PKB?

All Android devices suffer from this. Just take the Nokia 8 launched five months ago : it is down to € 349 from € 599 !

Not in and of itself but to pay a 400-500 premium for it? Probably.

If it's the only phone in the market that has it (and the KEYone is not a bad device) then I see nothing wrong with it.

    To each their own

wow EUR 379 is definitely a sweet deal for this phone. Then again rumor of a Keytwo has been surrounding so it only makes sense that the current gen gets a price cut.

The upside of all this is we will have cheap replacements for years to come. That means at least another decade of PKB's

I don't know about decades, but the KEYone's existence should allow us to keep typing on real buttons until 2021, by then it will fairly obsolete, but newer PKB phones should be available anyway (hopefully).

https://www.mediamarkt.de/de/product...r-2241789.html. It's true and tempting, and now much cheaper the the Motion. But would it be Qwerty that you see in the Ad images or a German version.

The KeyOne Black is now £100 cheaper on Amazon UK, eg £449 which is c.£374 + VAT (Sales Tax) - the old price was £549 total,
and both Amazon UK and CarPhoneWarehouse are now selling the Silver for £379 (was £499).

Is this an actual price drop, or just a limited sale price for the holidays?

But yes, the phone has been "out" for ten months now.

No it already includes the VAT (as always on german onlineshops for private customers). And currently even without shipping costs (at least inside Germany).

About the Z and Y letter; as far as I understood, there are some settings in the keyboard settings on the keyone, where you can change some functions, so it might be possible to change Z and Y and maybe also the € to the Dollar symbol?

Have a look at saturn.de. SE is 379 euros, BE is 499,-. Postage for free.
Amazon.de really sucks with regards to prices of the KeyONE.

I think it has to be expected. If they are working on new renditions they'll want to begin moving stock fairly soon. You don't want to get caught with the s9 and the likes in the spring and be trying to compete with a phone that's a year old at that point.

So does my Nokia flip phone from 2000. Doesn’t mean I’ll be paying 700 for it.

I’m in Canada. The black edition is going for 760 on amazon, so over 800 with tax. Worth 300 given the specs.

Wow your Flip phone from 2000 has thousands of apps available, email, great camera, unbelievable battery life. Keyone isn't $700 US - BTW.

    What an idiotic response.

No need for insults. YOU’RE (note correct spelling btw) insane if you’re paying the keyone msrp. Try any other Chinese, 625 based phone without a pkb obviously. What does the keyone have to offer other than a pkb?

My position stands. In Canada, you’re paying a 400-500 premium for a pkb.
