And if they later found out there were issues in certain situations, do you think they would tell us?

Probably not, you're right. I may cancel my order from unlocked-mobiles.com. I can wait till 31st. (actually my wife can wait) :-)
Let's see what happens in next two days.

Everyone may need to Google LTE Bands for TELUS, Bell, MTS , Rogers etc. Find out what Bands they use .. Rogers uses 2,4,5,7 Bands. Also will be fine based on posters here in Canada already using UK version KEYone on Rogers.
Band 12 is the only risk as that is for future spectrum to penetrate buildings better. That technology won't be available for 18 months - 24 months at least.

    Networks & connectivity

    Network bands

    Canada, LATAM, APAC, US V1:*
    LTE1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 17, 19, 20, 28, 29, 30*
    TDD LTE: 38, 39, 40, 41*

    EMEA*
    LTE: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 13, 17, 20, 28*
    TDD LTE: 38, 40*

    US V2*
    LTE: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 12, 13, 20, 25, 26, 28, 29, 30*
    TDD LTE: 41*
    CDMA BC 0,1,10
700 mhz is the spectrum used by Rogers "to better penetrate buildings" it is already deployed and is using band 17 not 12 and 17 is available on EU version of the Keyone. I've been using it on Rogers for the last couple days and everything works including bands 4 (1700-2100 mhz) 7 (2600 mhz) and 17 (700 mhz). I've hit download speeds of 65 mbps on band 4.

Excellent to hear then! . How much was your duty and taxes if any?

The added duties of $100 is making me cool my jets a bit on making the order. Sometimes packages will get by customs and you'll get a break from paying duties, but with my luck, I won't be so fortunate. I think I'll just wait for the end of the month to arrive.

This thread is a good one! Looking forward to hearing about other's import experience!

    Ordered from Unlocked-Mobile to Israel.
Note VAT is excluded for international shipments which is great as not all UK online shops are excluding it.

Total is £436 (K1 + Fedex Priority), local VAT of 17% will get it to a total of £510.

Just a few days ago our government decided to cancel the mobile phone import duties (besides VAT) so spared me an extra 15%.

    Will update!

I noticed that the guy who shipped to California never answered what he ended up paying...
I ordered and am shipping to California.. My total was $560.49.. There are no import duties to the US... If if ships on the 5th then I should have it on Monday I'd assume as I selected one day FedEx shipping..

    Hey mnns,

So to my understanding if we wait until May, it's $549 + taxes here in the US which can cost roughly $600 as opposed to a shipped $560.49 if bought from Unlocked-Mobiles? The only thing to look for is promotions such as free screen protectors and power banks?

But you're also getting the European version of the device that missing band 12 support. If you're on T-Mobile, that may be an important consideration.

I ordered mine from Selfridges and the total cost was 835$ including shipping, taxes and customs. I imagine the phone will sell Sim free in Canada for at least 699 and with taxes that would come to about 790 with taxes.

Correct.. I am on AT&T and don't need band 12 so the international unlocked version was the better choice for me and I saved some cash! If ordered through BBMobile US and after sales tax I would have paid about $590....

I don't really care about freebies as I never use screen protectors and I have like 5 or 6 USB powerbanks already for my GoPro's..

Mine from unlocked-mobiles.com is 433£ pounds for Alberta. Which is about $765 CDN so will see what is added on delivery. Probably an extra $45 ish.
Worth it since I decided to keep order at unlocked-mobiles. See if they come through for May 5th delivery..

Thanks Racing24. You eerily have predicted my situation. I'm on T-Mobile. And I'm already thinking of getting rid of my iPhone 6 Plus for this, but again. Read about the "heating issues". Had the same experience on the DTEK 50 so I returned it. But I love the form factor and miss the PKB. Still have a 9900. So sad I sold the Q10 I had.

You're welcome. I'm in the same boat although I could realistically live without band 12 support, it's nice to know it's there. I'm torn about pulling the trigger...

One last consideration is the warranty..

US warranty will be 12 months but getting warranty service will be simple.. The Unlocked-Mobile has a 24 month warranty but getting it serviced will be a pain.. Would entail mailing the unit back to England ect..

I generally always buy the unlocked international versions of phones so not a big deal to me if warranty is needed I always have a backup phone available..

Incorrect. The taxes are the usual HST (or as Province applicable) and in the case of Ontario is was about $ 95 CAD.

In Alberta we only have GST which is 5% so only about $39 GST plus duty if any.
