Basing on all OEM iterations in making previous Google Android devices, can blackberry take a shot at this, at least security wise?

No... BlackBerry isn't an OEM, they have devices made for them by 3rd parties. (Why they aren't competitive already)

No... BlackBerry isn't going to release a fully stock Android experience.

Wow, that really hurt my feelings.

Nexus and BB are at opposite ends of the Android spectrum. Don't see BB ever producing a phone with a unlockable bootloader, easy modification of OS. and stock Android.

Didn't mean to hurt your feelings...

You mentioned "security wise", actually think that's another reason Google wouldn't want them to be part of their Nexus program. Nexus users tend to be Android power users... you will find very few Android power users that appreciate the limitation that a locked boot rom brings to the experience.

Besides worries about the bootloader, won't this give blackberry security a chance to scale?

Why would a Nexus customer want a locked down phone due to Blackberry security? I think you fundamentally misunderstand Nexus.

My Nexus 6P running Cobalts BlackBerry manager is for all intents and purposes a BlackBerry Nexus now. As soon as the BlackBerry Apps Suite is optimised for Full touch, the point of running a BlackBerry built device will really only be the security updates.

But even there the difference between BlackBerry and Nexus is negligible.

And it's even priced more competitively than the Rome/Vienna, or any hypothetical BlackBerry built Nexus (prediction, remember this once it turns out to be true).

    BlackBerry 10, CB10 signed.

Well I just thought if OEMs (even those sourcing devices from third party manufacturers) had a chance to negotiate a Nexus deal, BlackBerry doing the same would shoot it far a head in the Android market place...IMO.

On top of what was already said, you don't just make a Nexus device. You get chosen by Google to build one.

Even if you bypassed the mentioned hurdles. You'd have a Nexus device that didn't have BB specific apps with updates that bypassed BB.

If you mean you'd like BB to make a pkb Google Play Edition Blackberry well that is more a possibility than a Nexus.

Except the Google Play Edition program has been dormant for over a year...

May be there should be a BlackBerry nexus parallel to the main nexus and Google should advertise it as enhanced security nexus partnered with BlackBerry.

I think that would really boost BlackBerry into android market. And also solve the problem of rooting device.

It really seems like a natural partnership. Google would benefit in their push for android at work... especially with governments... and Blackberry would benefit from the market exposure.

For that matter, Blackberry could just design software suites for license targeting the nexus line exclusively. It wouldn't necessarily do much to help the handset business, but it would increase revenue and brand exposure
