CDMA Variant is BBB100-3. Quad Band GSM/HSPA, CDMA BC0/1/10, LTE Bands 1/2/3/4/5/7/12/13/20/25/26/28/29/30/41.

    https://www.fcc.gov/oet/ea/fccid
    https://fccid.io/2ACCJN017

    Enter 2ACCJ and N017.

This one supports pretty much all networks in the US, not sure why they didn't just release this as the unlocked and go the Nexus route (unlocked can be activated on Sprint or Verizon).

It's got Sprint bands, so hopefully Sprint can finally leave 2013.

This one is missing a MAJOR AT&T core LTE band, however. Yes, it will "work" on AT&T, but.....

(Yeah, the "two" American variants are pretty-clear evidence that AT&T, Verizon or BOTH refused to sell a handset that could be moved between them.)

Right... 17 is missing. Only effect is that LTE+ carrier aggregation won't work.

Is band support hardware or software driven?

    I believe it's firmware.

    I believe it's firmware.
Then I'm not sure I understand what the need for differences between carrier models is. Couldn't the firmware be adjusted ( programmed) according the carrier to access the various bands? Then one phone gets made and approved with all the bells whistles and access but later is tailored by the carrier for their own system?

I just may not understand how the firmware, hardware, software works.

So without band 17, does it make at&t less attractive or less usable here in the states?

LTE would be a bit slower but general use it'll work fine.

That sucks a bit, considering my passport has that band. Oh well.

Hopefully the 9/22/17 is just the date the short-term confidential files get declassified.

If you want to run the phone on a GSM network get the other model; it will be better for AT&T and both are fully compatible with T-Mobile.

If you envision wanting Verizon, however, this is the correct one.

Some items are under short term confidentiality (six months) so that they aren't leaked prematurely by regulatory bodies (user manuals, external shots, etc). Other items are permanently confidential because they're trade secrets (block diagrams, stuff like that).

It's the date the document will become viewable on the FCC site. As Thurask noted, long after you'll already have it lol.

I'm pretty sure you can't get this version other than from Verizon anyways. The only other possibility is that this is also sold by China Telecom, there might be TD-SCDMA support on this for them.
