Yeah I wasn't too keen when he said it was a premium flagship device, let's call a spade a spade, it's a medium/high at best, which is perfectly fine, but not flagship.

Moto Z Play used to be most expensive snapdragon 625 phone last year for $399 but Blackberry keyone took the crown now for $550!

The fact that dtek60 was based on a reference ,I would say mercury deserves more credit.

Technically it's not BlackBerry's fault this time around.
This is a licensing deal so regardless of how much TCL sells it for, BlackBerry supposedly gets a fixed $ amount.

That's the price I figured it would be. Especially with the Priv being $499 on their site.

Not getting this. Moto Z Play is $399 for same chipset and same battery size. Hard to see many people spending $549 on the comparable Blackberry which only really has a keyboard to differentiate it.

I am keeping my z10 :P I was going to buy DTEK60 but maybe wait for next full touch device later this year (if any) w/ potential higher spec.
KeyOne is no way the premium flag ship device even with the keyboard: there is no eye popping technology but rather mid range industry standard phone with already existing Software features i.e. DTEK and Hub.

IDK how news media going to take April av and Pricing and may going to slash BB with "another fail(ed) device launch"

    oh wel.

I like the specs and design. Availability and specially the pricing could use a little tweak for the CDN market.

Staying with Z30. Priced to high and another 2 months before it's out. Plus it won't be on Verizon.

Which is different but all the market evidence tells us is not a differentiation (something people will pay for).

At £500 in the UK, it's DOA.

Agreed, but only the absolute keyboard die-hards will even give it a go at this price. They would have had a much bigger market if it priced in much closer to the Z Play without a $150 keyboard "premium", but sadly this will be a super niche device at this price and clearly will not be the resurgence of the Blackberry brand.

Yeah... not paying $549. You did it again BB. Way to let me down with the pricing once again. $449 and I would have probably bought. $399 definitely bought. $549 for a SoC 625 is a no-go. Too many phones in the $400 range with better hardware.
