If I'm not mistaken, AT&T uses LTE band 30, and the EU version LTE band support stops at 28. So I'd rather wait just in case...

Waiting would be a better option, as well as a much cheaper option. Ordering from UK is gonna cost you and arm and a leg with shipping and import tax

I almost paid someone in London to do it for me then a few users said not to do it.
It sounds to me like it would work 90%+ as good as a US version but there is still the off chance of it not working as well in all places. I live in Minnesota so it's pretty flat here but I guess it's not worth risking.

The Canadian version though will be the same as US if we bought one on 5/18 from Canada instead of 5/31 in the US?

Since cdma is still a thing for Verizon, it will not work of you get the Canadian one because there is going to be two version for NA

One for GSM and one for GSM + cdma bands

Yes, they're the same North America GSM model. Whether it costs significantly more to buy it from Canada as opposed to in the U.S. will determine whether or not I wait a few more days.
