- So just in reaction to the still 625 hate; just a note the Moto G5 has a 625 and seems to blast through everything. Check this out:
Of course one difference, about 250 dollars. . . .03-24-17 08:12 PMLike 0 - 03-24-17 09:21 PMLike 1

So we take this hardware add 60$ for a bigger battery, 60$ for a PKB, plus 60$ in software apps etc.
Than you have a Mercury at 480$-525$US -a golden plated afordable device..

We can see on this video the decision from Motorola-google to suppressed the android's physical buttons(or keys if you prefer) on this device, like it was wished for the Keyone in a thread on this forum.
I think M.Chen on this have been cheated on this: he said about the phycal android buttons, that it was a Google requirement..Last edited by franqueb; 03-25-17 at 01:11 AM.
03-25-17 12:58 AMLike 0 - You could add another 60$ for security and another 60 for build quality
Sent from my BlackBerry Passport™BigBadWulf and HighFlight88 like this.03-25-17 01:04 AMLike 2 - I type about 2.5M words a year on my phone, I'm perfectly willing to spend $0.0001 per word, or $1.00 a workday for the first year for the speed, accuracy, and precision of the PKB for writing, editing, and shortcuts.
It's not even a close call that the K1 with the SD 625 and 3GB of RAM is worth the money. I would pay $100-$150 more for it and still call it fair.

. The hub is exclusivity alright but the to other others seem not.
sophos app for exemple give you security auditand a antivirus.
The big security thing by using a Blackberry instead of others brands seems to come mainly from Ad-hoc &... Blackberry software service's offer: the big stuff.
Are we alright to talk about real security improvement by using a BB android device ALONE without entreprise's services... ?
It will be fine to have some good an develop answers on that question... may not not here.

- I just don't get it. The price is the price. If you want it at that price, buy it. If you don't, don't. TCL obviously would prefer that fewer people buy the KEYone at a higher price per unit, at least at launch.
Some of us care more about the form factor, monthly updates, DTEK software, physical keyboard, and battery life, and don't care about the difference between the SD 625 and the 8xx. Sure, another GB of RAM would be welcome, but isn't important for the way we work.
In case you don't understand pricing strategy, look up "Value-based Pricing" on Wikipedia. Except for commodity items, pricing should be based on the value of the benefits perceived by the customer. If you don't perceive benefits from the additional value to a commodity glass slab Android with the same components, you should not buy the KEYone.
Frankly, if it seems to expensive, you are not the target market at launch. Get over it.

I think almost every Crackberrian understands what value-based pricing is. At least everyone practiced it - imo. So, whether someone will buy KEYone at launch, it will be his/her own decision.03-25-17 10:41 AMLike 0 -
With that being said, I do feel they should give all of the pre-registered folks a $25 off voucher for the lack of information since being pre-registered, lol. I mean throw up a simple how to video or some new pictures, etc.
**Classic, Q10, Bold 9900, Bold 9000...do u notice the pattern? :-) ...the KEYone is NEXT!**03-25-17 10:52 AMLike 0 -

To them I say, good. Have fun chasing ghosts. Meanwhile, I'll buy a phone that works for exactly what I need, and get on living my life.03-25-17 01:49 PMLike 0 - If TCL have made this device only for crackberrian... I don't think it will the succes we s'oppose they expect.
So concern about the right lauch price base part on the hardware and part on software add on is the logical way to see it.
The question:
Is the Keyone is twice a better phone than the Moto g5?
30 to 40% better with a keyboard, and software additions? -. possibly
It is what the price seems to say...
Out of that is count on the PKB addition of some people here...
Anyway for my part I thing this device is interesting but I can wait. I want to see first if a Passport base on dtek60 will be lauch. I beleve Keyone is a good device. But for me my favorite fom factor still the Passport. Simply because I prefer larger an shorter device. Keyone will be my B plan.03-25-17 10:51 PMLike 0 - 03-25-17 11:34 PMLike 2

I'd better stay with my s7 edge and may be jump to s8 for the same money and better quality.....

- I would pay more for the KEYone than I would for the Samsung, because I don't want the features in the S8. I want the features in the KEYone. I'm not saying it would pay $1,000 for the KEYone, but I would not pay more than $100 for the S8 because it would just become a media appliance for my 7 year old. In that sense, for me, the Kindle Fire has better features because it has better parental control options.
I know that the people who care about specs won't understand how it could prefer a Kindle Fire to the S8, but that's because they project their priorities onto everyone else.
Samsung makes great phones, but only for people who want that type of device.

They know nothing about crafting a system filled with many components, including software, and care nothing about how that system actually presents itself to the user.03-26-17 06:23 AMLike 0 - I would pay more for the KEYone than I would for the Samsung, because I don't want the features in the S8. Even the DTEK with similar processor is hardly can be on the same level as my s7 edge....which is full of blackberry staff.

Once they updated it to the latest Android it could take--4.1x, I believe--that destroyed the usefulness of the phone. Battery life went down to about 3-4 hours, and it had a bunch of other glitches. Even worse, the update made it impossible to go back to any earlier version. And all Samsung could do was shrug their shoulders.
It was after that that I saw on the web that virtually every Galaxy S3 owner had the same problems I had.
And remember, the Galaxy S3 was their flagship at the time.
To add to that, look at their Note 7 fiasco with the battery.
No, I won't say that Samsung knows how to make a better Android phone than BB.03-26-17 08:45 AMLike 0
