Question Worth replacing housing on 9700 & flipping for 9780 this late in the game?

For those of you who leapt from a 9700 to a 9780: is the jump worth it so late?

I am currently using OS 6 on my 9700 and get the memory errors in the browser all the time, and so I am hoping those issues are non-existent w/ the 9780.

I know not to waste my upgrade on a 9780 as I'll spend that on the 9900, but since I'm betting a late summer/possibly autumn launch for T-Mobile (anniversaries for 97xx), I was wondering if the extra RAM & flash the 9780 has is worth replacing the housing on my 9700 then selling that & paying the difference towards a 9780 outright (likely used) purchase (then possibly so the same again when the 9900 comes out but that time combine the upgrade with selling the 9780.

Thanks.

Some may say it is worth it but I wouldn't be one of them. I did it and regret it.

Why? The only two differences I think are the RAM and the camera. I don't have enough apps installed to take advantage of the extra 250MB's. And the camera (while better) still isn't that good.

Plus, OS6... why I still like a lot of things with it, it can really tick me off as it it sometimes so slow. OS5 near the end on my 9700 was really fast. I wish I could have that speed with the OS6 functions.

At the end of the day, it cost me about $100 to upgrade to the 9780 since I got a good price for my 9700, but it wasn't really an upgrade like the 9900 will be. I could have easily lived with my 9700 for the last 6 months and probably saved myself a lot of aggravation dealing with OS6 growing pains.

But again, just my opinion... but with the 9900 coming out, why bother moving to a 9780?

i was using a Torch and got tired of it so i went back to my 9700 once OS 6 releases became more stable. but i then traded my Torch for a Rogers 9780. i love the 9780 over the 9700. the camera is so much better and the phone is alot faster than the 9700. im more than happy with making the jump.

On my 9700, besides an OS shrink & very frequent battery pulls, what else should I do to keep as much RAM free as possible (the browser issue is driving me crazy!)?

I too gave up my 9700 and switched to the 9780 this past week. I have full intentions of being a 9900 owner in the near future, sooner then later I hope. I needed to get used to the OS6 and things. I love the physical form factor and feel of this Bold series. (97xx) So worth the upgrade to me though, faster, more memory and better camera. Only thing is I am finding the battery life is not as good as was on my 9700, but that is minor. However when my 9900 hits the stores, I will be making another switch as well. No regrets from this guy.....
