Problems with Final Fantasy

Hi - I recently downloaded Final Fantasy for my BlackBerry (it's something like an 8500). When I first started playing, it worked fine, but once I got really into the game, I've been experiencing awful load times for everything from battle animations to battles loading to towns loading to the world map taking 3 minutes to load. There's even a lag when I try to pick things from the attack menu. Has anyone experienced anything like this or know how to speed things up? I've tried closing out of extra applications, but that doesn't seem to help. Any help would be much appreciated. I'm already over 10 hours into the game and would like to be able to finish it. I have Final Fantasy on my Curve 3G and I've never had any problems. The game runs smooth and load times are what one would expect. Not sure what wouls be slowing it down.

Yeah, it's weird. It doesn't really make any sense. Sometimes the load times are so long that the phone dims the screen to black while I wait.
