BlackBerry DTEK60: Erste Pressebilder und ein relativ gnstiger Preis - WinFuture.de

Which likely translates to $549-599 USD.

EDIT: Actually Nov 11 seem to make no sense. It's Remembrance Day in Canada, though it's a bank and government only holiday.

EDIT 2: Article seems to have updated date to October 11.

Well it is cheaper than the Moto Z and has a headphone jack... so it got that going for it.

I just hope they didn't skimp out on the warranty like they did for the DTEK50. That actually would be a big sell over Lenovo.

$599 hmm. That's a tad steep but let's see what the phone has to offer once released.

I hope it's not that price. It'll be DOA if it's that much. C'mon BlackBerry don't screw this up!!

Well it is the cheapest amongst the non-Chinese brands despite it is a Chinese built phone, so it's not TOO bad actually.

Moto Z - $899 CAD (while it does have the modules thingy and 64GB)
    HTC 10 - $999 CAD (for 32GB only!!)
    HTC A9 - $649 CAD (for a 617, yes, same specs as the DTEK50)
Sony Xperia X Performance - $699 (closest competitor, but it actually has 1GB less memory and no fingerprint sensor)

I mean sure it's overpriced compared to OnePlus, Huawei and ZTE but still. If BlackBerry doesn't cut the warranty like it did for the DTEK50, I don't mind paying a wee bit more. Dealing with BlackBerry's warranty service is heck lot better than sending a phone overseas for repair to OnePlus.

scares me to think how much the mercury will cost...
although it does have specs approaching flagship level so i guess its reasonable compared how much the priv was initially.

This says it was for October 11. So maybe then? But I would think there would be a bigger lead up. Maybe not though.

Nothing in any other country than Canada. But as a Canadian it is an important day for Canadians. So saying that it would not be a great day to market or push a new product. The phone would get zero news coverage as most coverage that day would be to those who died for our freedom.

    Comprend ???!

Actually not so much the news coverage, but some companies got into a PR disaster for promoting sales on that day. BlackBerry being a Canadian company might not want to deal with this.

Retailers face backlash after offering Remembrance Day sales - Toronto | Globalnews.ca

Either way, moot point now that the article updated to October.

I should have added this above as well and rightfully so for the backlash.

    Great if October 11th though!

$699 CDN is $529 US. So it probably will be $499 as most have predicted. Great price.

Yes $499 is more than perfect for this phone.
    Plus October 11 seems plausible

I'm Canadian and don't see why its a big deal to not release the phone that day anyways, you can remember soldiers and go buy a phone on the same day. Not a big deal, I still, probably have to go to work that day anyways lol

Anything over $500 is probably too steep, at least until BlackBerry can claw back a larger share of the market than the 0.003% they have currently.

This 820 is likely a lower binned version of the one used in the S7 and Note 7. Fairly common for "flagship killers" from China.
