Anyone know how to prevent inadvertently opening apps while holding the phone to your ear during calls ?

I have never seen that happening. The device does not stay on the phone-app screen?

i read a thread about someone having issues with the proximity sensor, which i guess it's the reason in your case as well... afaik, he couldn't find a solution but i could be wrong there...

I've had this issue on several calls if the phone app was minimized or muted calls if the phone app was open. doesn't happen all the time. last few days i've been trying to pay attention to how the phone is positioned when it occurs.
