How are the front facing speakers? Are they loud like the Passport SE or the Z30? How is the clarity when at full volume for speaker phone calls?

Don't know about the passport, but they are almost as good as the Z30. Z30 is slightly louder with slightly deeper bass .

I've used the Passport, z30, Priv and almost every BlackBerry device since 2001. These are the best speakers yet. Super clear. Was just listening to some Luther Vandross in Acapella, stunning!

Really good sound. Don't forget to enable automatic MAXX audio setting and you have loud and clear sound.

How many speakers are there? It almost looks like there are 4 speaker grills (2 front, 2 back, 1 pair on top and 1 pair on bottom) unless two of them on the back or front are just for aesthetics.

I heard other person online but they kept saying the couldn't hear me. Guessing its network issue. Antenna seems real right on the dtek60. No dropped calls so far

Speakers are nice and loud. Notifications however are on the low side. But I think that can be fixed by downloading some loud tones.

Does anyone here have other recent devices to compare against? E.g. IPhone 7+, Nexus 6P, HTC M8 - M10?

Speakers are very important for me. I hope this is an area it excels in - but a few posts here and in other threads suggest that they sound good but are not very loud?

Personally, I think the speakers are loud. Better than any phone with a bottom or rear firing speaker for sure. I'd say they're just as loud as the Passport, maybe louder. Plus, they technically fire sound 4 ways, top/bottom - front/back (as the speaker grill holes are drilled front-back through the frame). This is, unless you use the pre-order case that case that came with the phone. That doesn't have holes for the rear firing speaker grills.
