I am currently a PRIV user and my phone must be locked at all times due to sensitive data on it. I have an unlock code that I have to type in every time I want to use the phone.
I have never had a fingerprint scanner on my phone and it seems much easier to unlock the phone by touching the fingerprint scanner, like the one on the DTEK60. But sometimes I am physically unable to pick the phone up and need someone else to check a message, so the code must also work and unlock the phone. (I am a surgeon and I often receive urgent messages that a nurse will read me when I am scrubbed in).

Is there a setting on the DTEK60 that allows this function?

You actually can't set a fingerprint without setting an additional option as well. So in your case, the nurse would still be able to enter a PIN or whatever else you set.

There isn't an option to unlock only via fingerprint sensor?
As far as I know, on the iPhone, you can set to unlock with a code or fingerprint or only fingerprint.

You can set additional means. I have a password, picture password and fingerprint set.

Yes even on the iPhone you need to set a pin in case for any reason the sensor defaults. You just swipe right and type in ur code. You can unlock the phone with the scanner only as well on both dtek and iphone

The pin is always required. Its the backup method. Say you get a cut on your finger, the scanner wont work so you need the PIN as a backup if the fingerprint fails.

So in the OPs case, he can use the fingerprint which opens the phone right up no pin required or have the nurse just use the PIN method

Was just inquiring whether such an option exists or not because I remember reading something like this for iOS (I could be wrong)

As others noted, you need to set a PIN on iOS as well.
