Just picked up a DTEK60, the phone came with a scratch over the camera lens.
It's very light as it's only visible depending on how the light hits the scratch and is not deep enough to be felt.
It doesn't seem to affect focusing or the picture quality but still not great to see out of the box.

My volume rocker is also extremely loose, is this normal? It feels like it's going to pop off or fall out.

Some cosmetic issues too, but I'm just going to ignore those...

Send it back. That is not normal. Also when you get a replacement get yourself a case that rises slightly above the camera lense to avoid future scratching. I'm rock'n a tetdat that handles that job perfect

The power button side seems to be better, but nobody else has a loose volume rocker? If I tap the volume rocker, it makes a rattling sound too.
The sim card tray also seems to be the worst I've seen for any device. It grinds when you pop it out and put it back in.

I'm just trying to figure out if these are normal manufacturing tolerances for this device. No point in sending it back if it's going to be the same on every device. So if it's normal, I'll probably just keep it.

I guarantee you - in a few months your volume rockers will stop working.

Get some sense bro! It should be as it feels on any other device, tight. Don't take this **** poor qc from BlackBerry.

You should definitely send it in for a replacement.

Second BlackBerry device that I've had to return... but not with my previous Sony/LG/Motorola devices.

Send it back. My guess is that you got someone else's return. I've got ZERO complaints with the build quality of my DTEK60.

Is it possible to receive somebody else's return though? The tape on the box didn't appear to be tampered with unless they're reboxing returned units.

The quality of my DTEK60 is superior to any other device I have owned. That includes nearly every BlackBerry from the first to and including the Priv. Yes including the Passport SE, Bold, Z30, and pretty much all the rest other than inferior versions of some.
