I mean you're asking this in the crackberry forum so the answers you get might be biased.

Firstly price:
G5 off contract is $749.99 in Canada.
DTEK60 is $650 in Canada

These devices are very comparable, both in size and internals. Internals are pretty much identical.

-G5 will have an LCD display vs the DTEK60'S AMOLED.
-G5 has removable battery, DTEK60 does not
-G5 has all metal body, DTEK60 is all glass. (G5 is probably more durable)
-G5 is going to have a slightly better camera
-DTEK60 has much better software features, including a near stock android experience with blackberry security.
-DTEK60 has slightly larger battery

For me i went with DTEK60 because I couldn't justify the extra $100 from what i need in a device. It's one of the best values out there.

Most Android manufacturers put their own unique skin on top of the base OS. That's why, say, a Samsung device overlay looks different than a Moto one.

One thing to consider are other pieces you might have... like other LG electronics. That's where the LG built-in synergy could be an advantage.

The G5 just isn't as attractive in my opinion, and I'm not a fan of the modular design.

Both are good but the g5 will be easier to pick up at a bargain price (in UK anyways). Also the cameras on the g5 are about the best out there. The inbuilt mic for audio recording while shooting video is the best by a country mile.

I think that will be the deciding factor, the price, can defiantly get some good prices on the G5. Would've wanted a DTEK 60 but a pit to pricy yet

LG's Android is annoying like Samsungs.
Just trying to get BB suite to work on my g5 is cumbersome and bugs are popping up after I do. i.e. all my icons a squizzed to top left. So I pretty much have one row of blank spaces at bottom and right side..

I had to switch back to using LG's home screen. Dtek is cleaner and slimmer too I Think. G5 does have removable battery which is nice.

As an LG V20 owner, I can tell you the G5 was not highly regarded. LG fans are excited about the G6. I'd go for the tight BlackBerry Android solution and don't look back. Along with the DTEK app, expect monthly OS and security updates from BlackBerry.

You certainly know already that LG G5 share 'the same hardware than the Priv (except the lens and the physical keyboard different screen) ithe Priv it is a LG5+++

For the price the Priv in Canada is Unbeateable and also the Huawaei Nexus 6P is a very good deal if it remain some. Both are offer by some carriers at 0$ Tab with regular plan.

In other side, the Dtek 60 is quite a phone if you want a full touch phone.

So if the money is a big point, the Priv and de Nexus 6P first.

Other way the Dtek 60 should make you happy.
