    OMG! When I saw this I said, someone else too.
    I have turned down the TV when texting like you would on a phone call.
    Sooooo...my answer would have been: Use the remote. LOL.

    Very dumb a phone makes a sound to notify you that you sent a text message after you pressed send?! Hated imessage doing this!

    Does anyone else feel ******** that a phone has to alert you that the action you did actually occured by giving audible confirmation when visually it's already doing it???!!

    Check the settings on whatever SMS app you are using. Seems like the first logical place to look.

    open the messages app, tap the 3 dots in the top right, tap settings, turn off "Outgoing message sounds". job done.

    I like the sound when a message is sent, but the solution is great for the whiners.
