After my security update, I am missing many on screen icons and I can't figure out how to get them back. They are still installed but I can't get them back on my screen. Help please.

Just pull them back onto your home screen from the apps menu.

Thanks Captain. I didn't know I could do that. I had touched and swiped til I was blue, but after your advice I gave it anothe go and pressed and held and voila it worked. I appreciate it. Sometimes we spin our wheels without a little help.

I'm still sticking on September security release. Getting a little bit nervous for now.

Bought my DTEK50 at amazon.de. September patch was installed quite immediately after firing up the device.

    Since then... Silence :-|

Any other German o2 customers with amazon - bought device are up to date on October patch level?

That's odd. The security update shouldn't mess with the icons...

It is and I have not seen that behavior in other Android devices I've used, but I saw the same behavior on my DTEK50 October update. Several icons were "greyed out" on the home screen, but they did come back to life after a few minutes.

The security updates do indicate they "optimize" every app on the device, so there may be some modifications taking place that require more time than just the initial reboot.

That being said, I have not observed any other unexpected behavior on my DTEK50 since the October 2016 update.....it continues to work like a charm!

I lost over half of the icons during the security update, and my phone was very hot to the touch during. My phone got hot on my holidays if I video taped. I will have to try it now after the update.

My DTEK50 is still on Build# AAG124, date is July 5th. If I check for updates, it says that my system is up to date. Someone else still here with this old patch level? Should I contact Blackberry or just wait some more couple of days?

    Something is wrong.

Try removing your SIM, rebooting, and checking for updates.

Thanks, I removed the SIM and the microSD, rebooted and checked for updates, but unfortunately still no updates offered. Still the same after a second reboot without SIM and SD.

I purchased a DTEK50 about 6 weeks ago from B&H in the USA.
I got the September 6th security update, but nothing since. Is that right/normal?
Tried taking out the SIM and rebooting, but still no security update.
Love the phone, just a bit nervous as to whether or not I will get timely updates...
    Any thoughts on this?

Not sure what the problem is, as the Oct patch was released to everyone last Monday.

I, too, am still on the September security patch. I bought mine unlocked, but I'm from Southeast Asia. I'm an Android newbie. Is there a notification when the update becomes available to us, or we just have to "check for update" every now and then?
Or do we need to join the Beta program?

Mine is from B&H as well. You will probably see it Monday. My wife's is from shop BlackBerry and hers had the update in September a week ahead of me. Seems to be playing out the same this month.

Mine also did not get the October update. Still on 6 September, AAG326.
I bought mine last week from Amazon UK. When first turned on, two updates were loaded. One 101.9 MB and another 421.1 MB.
Should I return it and buy from shopblackberry instead?

My calendar has not synced since I did the security update and when I try to sync it, there is a message about sync not being able to done right now and it shows that the last update was just before I did the update. Seems odd and it is a pain in the neck.
