I am highly considering dumping my Priv and picking up a DTEK50. I want to do this because I am sick of Verizon and want to move to TMobile. Also the Priv is just too large for me and I would like something smaller. Anyone else made this move and if so, what are your thoughts?

If TMobile coverage works in your area, for your needs... it's probably an OK solution. Probably won't ever be able to do VoLTE...

Personally if I was changing Carriers... I see what phone they would give me either at a big discount or for free.

I just made this very switch today. The two phones feel completely different. I won't say the Priv is bulky, but compared to the Dtek50 it is. I'll report more info if need be. So far all is okay with the 50

Do you use a BlackBerry phone?

I am on T-Mobile and use an unlocked DTEK50, as does my wife, flawlessly. Device is very comfortable and ergonomic. Great screen, speakers, speed etc. Can't beat the price either. (We got ours in the bundle offering)

Priv to DTEK50 that would be a downgrade no? Maybe to a DTEK60 now that's slight upgrade.

Bla1ze willingly moved to the DTEK50, so although spec wise it is a 'downgrade' many might prefer the '50 and consider it an upgrade.

I dont consider it a downgrade in my mind. The DTEK50 has a 8 core processor while the Priv only has a 6 core (higher clock speed though). Also the front camera on the DTEK50 is 8mp vs the 2mp on the Priv. Finally the DTEK50 is smaller and lighter than the Priv.

    To each their own though.

    Downgrade in my opinion,

The 617 isn't going to light up your world.

Agreed. I have a nexus on Verizon and passport on tmobile. Tmobile has terrible coverage of service unless you are always near highly populated areas in my experience.
