It's for all BlackBerry Android devices - BlackBerry begins rollout of January Android security update | CrackBerry.com
Yeah but I'm still confused why is it still stated as a beta?
Because some folks will get it as a beta if they signed up for the beta zone, others will get it as an official release. The rollouts are kinda odd.
I see,
Oh my God it's still december patch..
Why won't my Dtek50 update??? I check update and it say system up to date. I'm still on July. Had my Dtek50 for about 2 weeks. Build is AAF959
If you're trying an OTA from a carrier all the time, you may never get it. Get on wifi and try.
Do I have to remove the AT&T Sim card???
Still nothing for B&H purchased unlocked DTEK50. Still on Oct5 update.
December patch here also on Vodafone UK
Hi everyone I'm new to the Blackberry world but am an avid phone user and love to test all different platforms. I actually use all platforms including a Windows 10 mobile phone as my daily driver. My nexus 5x was updated to Nougat months ago and the update was just a bit above 1gb. I get monthly security updates on android and these are NEVER a gb in size, more like 50mb .. I'm really liking the size of this beta update and find it quite promising as we may get Nougat at some point. Just my 2 cents here. BTW I bought a Dtek50 and absolutely love it and what Blackberry and Android might be leading to in the future...kinda the best of both worlds thing if they play it right... time will tell...cheers
Try it.
Then, try setting your date back a few days and checking.
And if that doesn't work, load a factory image.
That's because monthly security updates are usually patch-based updates; the 50-150MB downloaded is merely what's changed, such that the OS can patch pre-existing files with the downloaded files. Downloading a gigabyte or two means that the update is being sent as a full upgrade, so everything (upgraded or not) is being downloaded.
Interesting... thanks for the reply :)
I got my update last night, 1.2Gb in size. Does anyone know what this update included?
Ya mine was 1.2G as well. Had to uninstall tons of apps to make space.
I wonder where we can find a schedule or list. My first 50 got updates right away, now my new ones take a while longer to get them.
Finally got an update today. I'm on AAI482 now
hopefully it fix the random reboot of( idol 3, 4). dtek...
Hey,
Did you ever get it to update?
I'm stuck on the July '16 patch as well!
Can anyone help me understand how to get on the beta channel.
Thanks
You have to join BlackBerry beta zone
Googled it! Thanks!

No I'm still on July patch. Went back to Best Buy they could not figure it out either. They never seen this before. They ordered a replacement. If it doesn't work they will take this one back and get a refund.
You can force an update using a factory image: it'll wipe the phone but at least it's updated.
Reload BlackBerry powered by Android smartphone - Canada
Will doing a wipe with a factory image ensure future normal channel (non beta) updates is what I'm wondering!
I'm halfway through joining their beta release program.
Which would you suggest for me.
(I'm a techie so the beta will not bother me that much - asking your opinion purely on your experience standpoint since I'm new to bb)
Thank you.
