Yeah exactly. If u hear the BlackBerry representatives talking about this phone you'd know that there has been lots of hard job to make this phone. Am still using BlackBerry 10 and won't easily move to BlackBerry Android but that doesn't make this a bad phone. So weird people

Software is harder to tweak than hardware. Specially the initial hardware design are not done by blackberry.

I don't think anyone is saying its bad hardware, just that its not Blackberry's hardware so you don't really know what you are getting as far as quality.

It's not bad hardware and the idol 4 in compare win some awards in europe. So my quess this is why blackberry goes voor this model. Second like me most expected something else in hardware and that is or was the battery but running 1,5 ghz seems to give 10% more battery life the the idol and blackberry tuned it all also that a daily use is good.

So how bad is the hardware. Let say it's bad for hardcore 3D gamers because it shows some lag but for social media and multinedia and some games like fruit, birds and pokemon you gone get this if you on top like to have a secure device protecting your privacy and it has a great keyboard and hub with monthly update's.

    Just 299 dollar.

Used their own software, hardened up the software and added cryptographic keys to the chip via manufacturing process...

The hardware is decent for a USD300 device. DTEK50 is a mid-range device, not premium so price/hardware is reasonable.

people don't have to buy an Android device if they think that whatsapp, Facebook allready have copyright what they send but also what is on there phone about what emails you receive, sms, contact and location. At least this company is trying to protect all that information with some open source protection to let hackers and thirth parties not to steal there information they wanted to sell and they do it with more then 700 different ratings like health, style or where you drive to compare it with dangers roads or just how often you go to a fastfood restuariant. The facebook, whatsapp is a free choice.

You know Turkey people in the Europe deletingg there message's from Facebook or just deleting there account and that they delete there whatsapp or twitter account because they are afraid they goverment will misreading that information and people get in jail and get fired from there jobs at school, goverment, airport and that is involving not only 80k people but also targeting there whole family. This is just an example how sociale media could backfire you and your friends and family.

The not so free choice also harming your business partners, friends and famill are these apps that are free but doing the same fore thirth parties or worse they don't use any security. The best example right now is pokemon go which ispulling everything from your phone, not secured and sell it straight to at least 7 other companies. Germans goverment have 15 privacy issues about the game. http://fortune.com/2016/07/20/pokemo...rmany-privacy/

If you care about what is going on on your phone, what are apps doing and how you can block these things or just delete the stuff then you know you could get a phone that is doing that and on top ot that you get a monthly secured update and some great apps like the hub and awsome virtueel keyboard.

So choice 1 is easy you don't care and you like to share stuff to all kind of media especially from friends and family then you buy A idol 4

Choice 2 is you care and it's still not to late a kill these apps and delete your facebook account before it hits you after 10-15 years in your own free choice or costing your privacy or freedom to get a assurance, work or just a loan for a house - then you choice BlackBerry.

I use it for a week. I'm not a tech junky. I'm not a heavy user either (well, can be, but not every day).
I had all BB10 and Priv before.
Battery is OK+, speakers are good+, screen is nice+, reception is nice+.
If you want to put specs over it, well, no problem.
    As for me, @ $299 that's a solid offer.

If blackberry came out with a 700$ phone with good quality hardware, people will be screaming their heads out that it's too expensive. Now they came out with a lower priced phone with decent hardware and people are still complaining?

If some people want a high end phone that's cheap, then buy a used phone
