This Samsung fast charger with output 2.0A, is it ok to use on the DTEK50?

Output: 5.0V - 2.0A

Normally it is ok to use with Dtek, but I think charger that came with your phone should also be 2A adapter. Am I wrong?

Yes, the DTEK50 charger is also a 2A charger. I just want to be sure it is ok and don't want to carry around 2 different chargers to charge 2 different phones.

No it is not. blackberry will be glad to sell you one for $39 or so I believe.
Or you can get a 3.0 Qualcomm approved on Amazoo for a lot less.

The dtek50 doesn't support quick charger 3.0...i wonder if 3.0 chargers are backwards compatible with 2.0 devices like the dtek50

When you use different chargers, make sure they're 5.0v, there are some 5.3v or so chargers out there (I have one for the Lumia 650 or another phone), but the 2.0A is fast and that Samsung one (I have the same one for Galaxy S5) should be just fine but you won't get the benefit of the fast charging like the Galaxy S5 USB cord has.

I was thinking the same thing. I have a Samsung charger now and it charges really fast so I'm wondering if I could use that when I get the Dtek50.

Sure- no problems. We use our Samsung tablet chargers at times with no issues. We even use our older Z30 and my Classic chargers with nary an issue. We did pick up some Aukey 2.0 quick chargers off of Amazon for @ 9-10 dollars. However I am not 100 percent convinced they are that much faster. Phone seems to charge quickly irrespective.
