    Just thought I would share the results of a test I conducted today. Unplugged both my z30 and dtek50 at the same time today, took them both to work, used the dtek a fair bit more than the z. Results as of right now, dtek 59% and the z. 50 %. Both had Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and cell coverage. I think the dtek would fair worse with heavy screen use and better that the z with very light use. Battery on the z is a year old but it did come with a rear housing so I have no idea if it was new when I bought it.

    I found battery's life on the DTEK 50 is better than my Z30 based on my usage. Normal on screen time is 5-6 hrs.

    Batteries:
    Z10 = 1800 mAh
    Z30 = 2880 mAh
    PP = 3450 mAh
    PRIV = 3410 mAh
    DTEK50 = 2610 mAh

    Yep ....... it's surely will not hang like a PP or PRIV ............... but it should be a couple of notches above Z10 and similar to Z30. I realize that the processor and other components will affect the battery efficiency and that 'mAh' alone is not a direct measure for the efficiency of the device.

    As indicated above ........ I would expect similar performance to Z30.

    BTW .......... my PP took a dive Saturday....... just ordered Dtek50.

    Z30 = 2880 mAh
    DTEK50 = 2610 mAh

    Therefore.......... 2610 x 2 = 2880 .......... new math

    So is the dtek 50 battery good or not loll

    I've read reviews saying it's not and others saying you need a charge at end of a work day.

    The z30 would easily go from 7am to 12am thus you'd only need to charge at bed time. Q10, classic, and passport same thing.

    Decent is how I would describe it thus far. It's been so busy at work I haven't really had a chance to beat on it.

    The Z30 should get better battery life, or at least mine did. The thing to remember here is that Blackberry put a dim, washed out screen in the Z30 to preserve battery life. The Z30 doesn't have close to the screen the DTEK has, and the dim screen of the Z30 saves battery.

    That screen is one of the things I really dislike about the Z30. I understand trying to preserve battery life, but on an average day, max brightness is just enough to be comfortable. On a really sunny summer day, the brightness just isn't high enough.

    Anyone phone can do that. Just depends on what u do. Do YouTube, games like candy crush or responding to forums on crackberry constantly. Or just answer calls when it rings. My dtek50 goes from 9am - 12 or 9 am - 7 pm. Just depends on how u use your phone daily. My s7 edge had good and bad battery days too

    It's more like bb10 vs android 6.0. BB10 os is just very efficient in battery life.

    Same. For me it had great battery life. My Passport is good but not as good as my Z30.

    I got a DTEK50 for my wife and the battery life is phenomenal. She is not a heavy user, but she can make it 2 days easy on a charge. The beauty of Marshmallow, is that if you set the phone down for 30 minutes, it goes into Doze and hardly uses anything.

    So it seems on idle the DTEK50 keeps its charge but when using the screen it drains fast. Like most Android phones.

    That's what happens when you have bright HD screens. If the screen on the z got as bright as some of the Android devices, I think the screen on drain would be similar. Set the screen on the dtek as dim as the z and see what happens.

    BB10 is more efficient, because it doesn't run more background process, and also only capable running 8 apps max at a time.
