This is the cheapest BlackBerry you can get in all aspects hardware wise and price wise. My BlackBerry passport SE looks like 1000 USD when being compared on this device side by side

It's the second offering post BB10, and supposed to be a low priced, midrange phone, with superior security. I hope this didn't catch you by surprise. The Priv and Passport both were considered flagships.

Lol I mean Q5 still looks more expensive/premium than DTEK50 im talking about all aspects I know its low to midrange device. BlackBerry device for me rocks in all aspects even the hardware specially the bb10 devices and 9900

Yet the DTEK50 can do a lot more than what the Passport can do, interesting

Do you have the device or are using basing this on your perception. The video reviews and tech reviews are very positive and and say they are shocked by the solid hardware, etc. Clearly not a flagship but definitely definitely mid-range or better from everything I've seen and heard.

Considering that some people who pre-ordered just got their Dtek today and the OP doesn't sound like someone who pre-ordered, I highly doubt they have held/used the DTEK50.

Lol preordered because its cheap. I will use it when im on field and dangerous place but will use my passport SE most of the time on field if im gonna meet clients personal device . The hardware looks so cheap that I do have a luxury of using it outside because it just look like any other local device here in the philippines. It looks so generic just like earlier samsung device.. When I used to bring out my classic and passport SE if lets say im gonna use my map Im having that wow stare from public specially passport se on bars they keep on asking me about the device and they didnt know that blackberry still exist. i I do have a brief experience of using Q5. Its a midrange device I understand all of ur opinion except with the double typing issue which I dont have. My opinion is just about the price and the hardware. I dont have any issue with the specs I know its a Bloatdroid secured by BlackBerry I know again that it is not a flagship device

I don't see what makes it look cheap either? The price is cheap but imho the 'silver' accents are nice, like the grip on the back (though I got a hard shell case and will be using it). Screen is nice and bright and a crisp display. Nice size / form factor, oleophobic display so less smudgy, easy to clean... Thin and light. Good audio quality esp. with WavesMaxxAudio, albeit a little low volume in some instances I've found. Battery is ... ok.

I have a Passport as well and love the form factor, but I'm not seeing "cheap" on the DTEK50. *shrug*

Excited for the Mercury if this is cheap.
