This will actually be a built-in feature of android 7.0, so expect BBM to be updated with this functionality sometime.

iOS supports this feature.

BlackBerry 10 and iOS do, therefore it is enabled on these platforms. For Android, this is not a current feature of 6.0, however it is a feature on 7.0.

BlackBerry COULD have used a different method, which WhatsApp uses, but the experience isn't exactly how it would be on iOS or BlackBerry 10. Hence, until Android 7.0 launches, they cannot take advantage of the inline replies.

Something is always better than nothing
They could have changed it with nougat but till then, they should have implemented it in whatever way possible
