Just went to a Bell Store and the rep knew nothing of it but when he looked it up, he saw a launch date of August 26, $449 retail but no 2 year contract price as of yet. He guesses that it would be launched at $99

We went into my husband's carrier this morning--which is Virgin Mobile. The rep. never heard of the DTEK50 and said "Virgin Mobile don't carry Blackberry at all". I asked if I went to Virgin with BYOD would I get Wifi calling. The answer was "no". She was sneering at the mention of the word Blackberry. I am on Bell and the manager at my store said the roll out for the DTEK would be closer to the end of the month in his opinion. I would never darken Virgin's door again. Rude and dismissive is how they acted.

I did some reading about Virgin Mobile, and I think the stores are franchises. At the store we went into, the door was locked and she came to let us in (said it was locked to keep out nefarious types) and it had absolutely no business. I can see why no business after our experience. I looked for any Blackberry devices and saw none.

Let's be real. How are people suppose to know about a phone if blackberry doesn't advertise. If it wasn't for CrackBerry. I would know about this phone.

It is really sad that a Canadian company is being treated like this from the Canadian carriers, I can understand other countries doing it but not one from Canada. Blackberry should be a top phone with all the Canadian carriers

Just spoke with Rogers agent and he said August 30th release date for Rogers pricing to be determined close to date of release.

DTEK50 should be $0.00 with a two-year contract. Moto G Plus or most other phones at the $400 price tag is $0.00. If you are going on a contract, might as well wait to get it on a $0.00 deal.

Went to a Rogers store today in Edmonton. They had a few DTEK50's in stock but couldn't give me one as it hadn't been officially released yet. They couldn't find anything on pricing and didn't know much about the phone except they had some in stock.

WorldLynx has it now also, $0.00 on a 3 year hardware upgrade. Plus you get a free case and charger. I'm still on a 3 year corporate plan, but I can hardware upgrade every year .
