Just wonder is the DTEK 50 more secure than the Priv?
Maybe it should read "BlackBerry. The makers of the most secure Android phones"

    That's a cool vid.
Nice way to clearly transmit the message in an easy to understand way.
    Kudos to BlackBerry!

The most secure android is talkin about android phones made by BlackBerry. No need to mention the PRIV for that phone launch.

But not removable battery? Total security when a phone is out of use, is no power source. Then absolutely nothing can access or bypass security.

Removable battery would also endear this phone to those who want to carry spares. And steal a march on the Priv. It would be the Android Z10!

Funny, the DTEK50 is running a MSM8952 chip according to the product page, yet the about screen at 2:57 refers to a MSM8976. Maybe they wanted to resell the Idol 4S first.

What's stopping someone from inserting a replacement battery? No extra security with a removable battery.

Its just a thing for marketing, its not more secure than the Priv.. They kinda forgot to use it on the Priv, so they used it now xD.. They also trademarked the sentence, which is perfect.

At 2:30 they talk about prompt security updates. Hmm, maybe they should check with their Verizon sellers and see how that's going.

Pretty much on the same level security wise. Good mid range phone but it makes me appreciate the Priv even more. I was typing with the PKB the other day and this couple was wowed...I educated them on everything Priv and they were sold,.

They said it's the same security as the BlackBerry Priv. Either way I can't wait to get it.

Sir, would you tell me how BlackBerry Dtek50 will Win people here in India,
Firstly most people here in india knows or say have this mindset that BlackBerry is Dead and they don't make phone anymore.

Second is the Price. Now it's being launch at 400$ which is approx 24Grand Indian rupees, by the time it is available in india with the custom charges and import duties the price will rise to 30Grands indian rupees or above which is approx, an average guy wouldn't go for 30grand ₹ in India for an Android phone.

This phone won't succeed in Indian market if the price is above 25grand Indian rupees, it would boom if the price happened to be 15grand indian rupees it would been hot cake but it won't. And people over here won't go for security as for normal consumer it won't matter much. And India is a huge market for phones so BlackBerry missed it again.

First off, it's $300 ($200 for the device + $100 for BlackBerry's added security and software).

Second, it is targeted to businesses and people who value extra security, and are willing to pay a premium for it. If you are not in this category, then this device is not for you.

That's For pre oder... I talked about the price when it will be launch In India. That would be more then 450$

An average people who is not an entrepreneur doesn't care for security, BlackBerry was looking to capture the consumer market so they got the price low, if they had targeted high class businessman the price wouldn't be so low. There is no chance Dtek50 would sell hot cake in India at this price, it will have the same fate as Priv which was 930$ when it launched here. And it didn't capture the market.
