I bet it looks a lot like the Alcatel Idol 4 as that is the rumored phone they are going to rebrand.

It is coming to the US in August to one of the prepaid carrier.... comes with a VR headset bundled in for $199.00 US. For full specs... alcatel Idol 4 - Full phone specifications.

But BlackBerry's version will be branded as BlackBerry and will have their special security features... but probably not the VR headset.

Yeah, but why is Blackberry jacking up the price of the phone an extra $150??? Granted $350 isn't a bad price for a mid tier phone but when you know the exact same phone is sold for $199 it kind of stings a bit.

USD. $150 premium over base Alcatel if you believe the rumour.

Sounds plausible. I was hoping for $300, but $350 isn't too bad.

So, if the rumour is correct, the BB-IdolNeon will jack-up the price of the Alcatel-Idol by 75%! and you won't get the VR headset that comes free with the Alcatel-Idol.

That's a lot extra to pay for the same phone with a BB sticker on the back plus some security features.

This phone will make the Priv look like a runaway sales triumph IMO.

I think it's 350 CAD according to phonearena, which is 270 USD, idol 4 is 199 USD, if that's the case, the price is pretty good

I just recalled that the reason companies didn't buy the Priv was because it was priced way too high. OK, so this would be Blackberry's response to that complaint. Android secured phone for way less than the Galaxy and IPhone. $50 dollars less than the IPhone SE and $350 less than the S7.

That's insane, not only can you get presumably the same exact phone just non-BB for $199 (albeit it's limited to 1 carrier right now) you can get the Idol 4S for $350 on pre-order.......I dunno this seems like an odd move if this is what they are going with.

If it does come at that price and doesn't include anything, it will flop, BlackBerry brand doesn't carry that weight. The alcatel 4 is coming with the VR headset, jbl earphones and two cases at that price .

Holy smokes people. BlackBerry's target market is enterprise. This is much cheaper than ANY competing secured phone from anyone!

If you are someone looking for the best specs to price ratio, with little need for hardening, this device was NEVER for you.

These will be free on contract. That's all businesses would want.

The only thing in common would be that both the BlackBerry and the idol are both made by same company!!
"Rebranded " really?!! Wow such drama! The idol is cheaper because it is locked to a carrier! And it won't have the goodies the BlackBerry will come loaded with!
Outsourcing is very common these days, wow lol

So, how well are those "competing secured phones" selling?

That probably gives an estimate of the target market size for such a phone.

That is certainly an issue. But it's the only card BlackBerry has to play.

How many iPhone and Galaxy Knox devices are being sold to enterprise? I can't answer that.

I wasn't doing an exchange rate conversion, lol. The price of the devices in Canada are usually jacked up higher than the straight conversion from the USD price. It's a running joke really, because BlackBerry is from Canada, etc etc.

Wouldn't be surprised though if this new device is even $599 CAD. That's just what they do to us.

I see. Although the Priv at $699 was $899 in Canada. Pretty much bang on the exchange rate.

I you are likely right that it won't be a straight exchange, they will probably add some buffer in for exchange or just for fun. Hopefully it would be sub $500 closer to $450-$460.

The ZTE Axon 7 is $399 US and in Canada are $529 which is $7 higher than current exchange on xe.com so pretty much bang on let's hope BB does the same thing.

350$ It's a joke ??? You can buy Idol 4 for 199$ at retail store... so you say the BlackBerry security stuff worth 150$

What, they add a second display...no... a second snapdragon chip... no.. a second Android software... no... a BlackBerry skin with Hub yes, the same one that is free from cobalt solution... and yes they add some hardware security
    ... does it worth 150$ alone...never
