    It's a low end phone that is selling for $200 (without the BlackBerry Security features and apps)...

    The other all touch is rumored to have a fingerprint sensor.

    It has all the priv software features...

    And no fingerprint sensor is fine with me.

    It's supposed to a lower end device for bulk deployments, $0 on contract plans and the third world, you're going to have to cut some corners to price it that low.

    BlackBerry 10 on this device would be weird as it doesn't look like a BlackBerry whatsoever. BlackBerry 10 on the Priv I could visualise. Perhaps that'll keep all the complaining away this time around.

    I believe you can buy the exact same model for $100 less, except that it comes with a different logo on the back.

    If you place zero value on what BlackBerry brings to the table, ie: BlackBerry apps, hardware root of trust, integrity detection, and kernel hardening, then why are you even discussing this on a BlackBerry site? Clearly you can get the Idol 4 for $100 less.

    Remember.....there are still people who ask why they should pay for an app ;-)

    The post I replied to said 'What other phone can you get for under $300' - and I rightly replied that you can get the exact same phone for $100 less, but a different logo on it. Yes?

    I think the question was what other phone under $300 can you get with a fingerprint scanner.

    I was more speaking to your statement about the other phone being the same with a different logo.

    No, the question was, "What other phone can you get with a fingerprint sensor for under $300".

    Why would anyone prioritise a fingerprint Scanner other than being an Apple sheep? Doesn't interest me in the slightest. I would want a screen display a whole lot brighter than the dim Z30

    Because this phone doesn't have one. If the next phone include one, then people will complain about any other thing...

    Cut your finger and tap the screen twice, there you have your finger scanner, those gimmicks are only to evoke the illusion of security, nothing is more secure than a good password. Next up, retina scan, just pluck your eye from your eye socket to unlock, great. With those gimmicks you just can kill the person, use the part of the body you need and unlock the phone. How secure is that, you don't even need the person alive. No thanks for that "technology"

    Unlocked PRIV on T-Mobile -> Passport -> Z10 -> 9900 -> 9810 -> 9800 -> Bold 2 -> Pearl -> Curve

    The Idol 3 is $100 less, yes, but this one have some of the internals of the Idol 4. But that was not what I said. I mean, the Alcatel doesn't have the fingerprint sensor either.
