Any news on Australian availability (dates and who's selling?) for the DTEK50? Looking forward to getting my hands on it!

Lol why not mate? It looks good (on paper)... I've got the Priv and love Blackberry's 6.0.1 version of Android. Very stable, quick and the quickest security updates out there.

I just bought wife an LG DAB would have bought this if it was available. 5.2" screen and decent enough specs would do her just fine 😀

Most probably something Telstra might get. They are happy with cheap ones as the failure doesn't hurt them much. But then again they have their own Chinese devices to sell.

Even bbstore.com.au has not advertised it yet. They are always pretty expensive anyway

Yeh true, that's what I did with the Priv too. Faster Android updates than the Optus sold Priv. Even if the Optus one is unlocked, the firmware updates still have to go through Optus. For that reason alone I can never buy a phone through a network provider ever again lol.

I had good updates on my Telstra classic and q10. How's the battery on the priv? Does it compare to a passport or z30.

The Priv's battery life is great. I don't think it's equal to the Z30 but then again with more apps to use, that helps with chewing through more battery. With 6.0.1 on the Priv, my phone only loses 1% battery on 8 hours standby overnight... That beats my Classic and any iPhones I've had in the past.
