Main diffrence is 7.1 has mobile hotspot and a fm radio, and it don't matter where you're from you can use this leak.there should be an official release soon I would think if you wanna wait for it, or give this one a try. Its been working great for me

Upgrading to 7.1 is actually pretty tricky... there's no 100% complete guide as everyone seems to assume that you are a master of modifying the OS files themselves, or at least have done this before. I ended up bricking my phone and it took hours to figure out how to get it working again; losing all of my applications in the process.

That doesn't explain if I should choose base/no base, and App Loader doesn't directly recognize the OS.

Overall there were three major instructions I had to use (generic, the OP's, and a helpful comment), but they conflict with each other and the installer itself.

" the 7.1 does work on my 9360. my 9360 os was .353 not .350 but if you have .350 OS installed on your phone already just download and install 7.1 EXE with base. close the screen that pops up when installation completes, plug your phone in. now all you have to do is go to your C: drive. Go to Program files (x86) (If your using Windows 7/Vista) then go into Common Files, then go into Research In Motion, then go to AppLoader and click Loader, then click next it will show you all files thats on your phone within that folder. click next and install them.

it takes time, and it will look like your phone aint booting up....dont panic just leave it for about half an hour to fully boot up and restore your files...i'm not responsible for any damage you may cause to your phone if not done right "

7.1 is my first beta/leaked install. I've installed a bunch of officials and have had no major problems. I used the "how to" instructions plus some advice I got from the CB forums. I like to try every new official that comes out, like .594 but I'll stay here partly for fear of not being able to install 7.1 correctly again. Any word on a official 7.1 coming out soon???

I've have version 7.0.0.353. Should I wait until 7.1? Or update already that 0.4xx or 0.5xx??? And how do you do it? Just connect bb to desktop??

If you wait and update with the official 7.1, i assume you will not have problems with language or ... ??

Also about the battery, I have my 9360 now 5 days and first day battery was down before i went to bed, next day +- at the same time, now its not even orange when i go to bed. And i always go around same hour to bed!? Weird or not?
(And i use it more then the first days)

No it's not weird at all ,the first week of my 9360 was painful , as the battery wouldn't last for 5 hours , but with time battery gets better , it can now last a full 24 hours .
As for the OS you should upgrade to .530 or to .594 , no difference that I noticed .

I just tried out .594 for a few days, after running 7.1. Like I said in my previous post, I'm not compfy with loading beta/leaked os's 7.1 battery life was def better than .594 for me, and I missed the Hotspot. Anyway, it took me forever to update back to the 7.1 leak Its tempting/addictive to wanna try out new os's, but I'm sticking with 7.1 4real this time lol! Until the official comes out.

I know this thread is a bit old but for future readers I thought I'd give my input. I got the 7.1 leak as soon as it came out. Was running it but then I thought I'd try this .594 to check the battery life of it.

Just installed it an hour ago so can't comment on battery life but it is definitey much, much smoother than 7.1 was for me. I'll see how battery life goes over the next couple of days.

Definitely let us know the majority of users here are on the leaked 7.1 or .530, it'd be great to know if .594 does work better than either of those two versions. I also think any of the latter .5xx series would preform a bit "better" than 7.1 because we have a very early version of 7.1, 7.1.0.70 to to be exact, perhaps we'll see the .190 leak as well but time will tell

Right, two full days with the .594 OS and I have got to say that it is the best OS I have tried for this phone. Using the phone is smooth, no lags etc. Boots up faster than 7.1.

In terms of battery life, I unplugged at 6AM yesterday and was at 30% by 8PM. Didn't use my phone that much yesterday though except a few BBM's, 10 minute phone call and a couple of text messages. And today I unplugged at 10AM, was at work for 5 hours so didn't really use it much then, but been BBM'ing *quite* non-stop for the past four hours or so, half hour to fourty five minutes phone calls. And I'm sitting at 40%. This is the best battery life that I've had for this phone.

On to day three tomorrow. Oh, and good news for me, my 9900 is back from repair =]
