South African Nets providers planning to cut down download permit of BIS
My fellow BBs, lucky you out there across the world whereby your net providers like Rogers alow you guys to download files,
Here in South Africa anytime soon or by next year, we will be no longer be able to download files using BIS, coz since they realized S.A is buying lot of BB, they might use this, as an advantage to RIM. - 10-30-2012, 02:09 PM #2

Re: South African Nets providers planning to cut down download permit of BIS
@Zakud, well, bro, if South African net providers are doing this to us, then, we won't consider BB as a phone to be bought...now I'm using a 9360, my next upgrade won't be BlackBerry again...coz they now have nonsense reasons over the net, its not us who abuse the net.
@2c....you may laugh as you can, but I'm pretty sure that you don't have same problem as us...if you did, you would have given a better response - 10-31-2012, 01:10 PM

Re: South African Nets providers planning to cut down download permit of BIS
I'm on cell c and they don't throttle their network I get between 100KB/s and 290KB/s never had any problem downloading stuff but yeah on vodacom I always had a struggle and never tried mtn because everyone said it was total Bullsh+t so if you guys want try Cell c depending on your area and 3G coverage you'll be happy with their service

O yeah that cool man. Look it simple, this is the Email you need, coverage@mtn.co.za just launch a complaint there detailing your problem.
Mine was freed in less than 3 days. Another smart method, download operamini. Download what ever and when it fails simply navigate to options and select Downloads from there you resume your download from where it failed. It pretty cool and fast as local browser. - 05-22-2013, 08:48 PM #15
Well cell c has done it. Downloading has been throttled. Can't donwnload my series n movies nor any uhm shared files. There us a way to download torrents and any youtube videos by the way, using BlackBerry if you haven't been throttled. But m not telling you.

First. As a fellow South African I'm stunned at the spelling. Just. WOW
Second. Your paying R60 ($6) for use of BIS, on any other local network that get's you 500mb if your lucky.
Thirdly. The reason your all being shaped to death is because your abusing the service, so not surprised
