How to remove a contact list!?

Ok, so pretty much all my contacts are associated with my yahoo email address contact list (which i no longer use) How do i remove this contact list? I've deleted the email account from my blackberry but it's still set as a default. Basically i would like all traces of yahoo to be removed.

go to Contacts and click Options. Then type rset, it will pop up with a screen asking if you want to wipe the contacts, select yes through all windows. You can then wirelessly sync or use desktop manager to repopulate contacts.

Ok, Will doing this make me lose my contacts? Will i have to back them up first?
