i brought a new extended battery and put it in the decoder with my battery but it still comes up with a red x through the battery icon when i start it up. what can i do? i have os 7.1 if that helps

decoder must be faulty or you are following the wrong procedure.

I was looking up extended batterys, I came across a few. A high capacity one (I think around 1400-1500MAh) and I was reading across the notes and it stated: Does not work for OS 7.1.

I think RIM put in new protection against these batterys :|
