What carrier? Do you have a BlackBerry Data Plan?

MTN South africa. yes i do. i had maps all this time but when i updated my os i checked to see and couldnt locate it

Have you tried reinstalling it by going to BlackBerry - PDA GPS - BlackBerry Maps at BlackBerry.com - US

i get this error trying to download it "BlackBerry Maps
Notice Sorry, your device does not meet the system requirements that are needed to support BlackBerry Maps."

You can't download it from there. (That link is for older devices.)

Typically, if BlackBerry Maps is available in your country and on your carrier, it is loaded with the device OS.

Try reloading the device OS and make sure that BlackBerry Maps is selected.

on the home screen press m then scroll down to extended search and you should see the icon

its amazing that RIM has not thought about introducing Blackberry maps for India.. I mean I am happy with the google maps but would have loved a native app from RIM too..
