9360 SMS Help
Hi, just a quick question regarding the storage of messages of on my 9360.
I've had the phone since February, and carried both the SIM and Media Card over my from past BB (an 8520), which meant that it retained messages from the start of December onwards, which was when I had selected to save them from. It did this, with no deletions, up until the start of this week, when I switched the Media Card for a 4gb, instead of a 2gb, version. Fair enough, I guess, even though I didn't think messages were stored on the media card...
But now, it is self-deleting messages every 4 days or so, and limiting conversations to about 20 messages before it starts deleting from the top. My question is why? Given that a) I still have the settings set to keeping messages indefinitely
b) The built-in media is no more than half full, according to the Memory use app.
So, what I want to ask is, how can I ensure than the device deletes no further messages, and if possible, how can I recover the lost messages from before, as if I turn on my old 8520, even without a SIM card or a media card in it, it still has my messages from December-February, so...
Should also add that I'm more than willing to have my emails auto-delete, but I don't know how to discriminate between the two.Last edited by Arkturus90; 05-23-2012 at 05:41 AM.

The Media Card stores MEDIA. It does not store SMS. And the SIM Card can only store a very limit number of SMS.
If you have messages that you want to save, the best thing to do is to back them up to a computer. - 05-23-2012, 05:53 AM

Yeah, I'm aware of that. I'm merely wondering why it was quite happy to save every SMS from December until last week, yet now it decides to delete them all after a few days?
