Hi,
I was given a blackberry the other day for free from my cousin because it won't turn on. So i thought i would examine it and try get it working but had no luck

I keep getting a red light and battery sign when charging the phone or connecting it to my pc
I have left the phone on charge for 3+ hours thinking that the battery may have been fully drained but had no luck.
I decided to wipe the phone with JL CMDER but it won't let me wipe it, just takes me back to the default page.
Decided to use BBSAK as an alternative but it wouldn't recognise my phone.
Finally, thought i would just update the software which may fix the problem but it keeps trying to "reconnect to JVM". (error message) application loader was unable to connect to your device, please reconnect your device and enter the password if required, and click retry".

Also pulled the battery out and put it back in while the phone being on charge or connected to the PC.

Tried these methods constantly but had no luck

Would love your help to get this blackberry back to life and have a working phone. Any help would be much appreciated

Get this quite a lot with BB's in our company.

Remove the battery from the phone.

Plug in a wallcharger, turn it on and plug it into the BB without the battery installed.

Give it a few seconds and wait for the red light to come on the BB once plugged in.

THEN put the battery in and allow it to charge.

none of these methods will work. i have blackberrys with the same problem and there does not seem to be a working solution anywhere on the internet. the only viable suggestion ive heard so far is its a hardware problem. no amount of software fixes will change that
