I don't know if ndo58 is being sarcastic or not.

Rather oddly this update has erased all my apps and all my email setup. On previous updates this hasn't happened to me?

I know. I have a feeling that it's my fault, but I'd like to see if others have the same issue.

geboy - Lucky for me I use BlackBerry Protect which backs up a few things. However, all of my BBM Contacts/apps/settings etc were wiped. Never had this with a software os update on the BB before.
Unsure of anything new as yet due to reinstalling everything

BlackBerry Protect had backed a lot of info up for me, but not my BBMs. All the BB apps I had to re download using 'uninstalled' on AppWorld (thanks to N4BB member for reminding me of this). You'd do well backing up you BBM contacts before you attempt it incase you suffer my unfortunate mishap.

Ok, I updated today and here is what I found....
First, I am unable to get my OS5 sound scheme back. I try and load the JAD file onto the device (with BBSK) and it says that it did it but nothing is there. I could battery pull until BB10 is released and nothing will change.
Second (I know everyone says this but I have never agreed about other updates making devices quick but this one did) the device is running quicker. Opening apps is faster than I have ever seen it (and I have been patient with this device and its long pauses).
Battery life seems normal (for the time I've had it updated).
So far, best build for me to date except I don't have and can't get my OS5 sounds

The_Adventist - Did anything happen to your apps and BBM contacts?

No, nothing. All apps, emails, txts, contacts and BBM arrived onto the phone after update.
I did a separate backup using dtm, chose the loader not to restore and then updated the device. I tried to use bbsak to install my os5 sound jad and finally used dtm to restore apps and settings.
Almost flawless. I'm bitter about my soundsLast edited by The_Adventist; 10-03-2012 at 04:42 AM.
