    Exclamation On Charging Status (Batt.)

is it fine for my phone to charge it when it still has maybe about 35% of battery status?
    OR
should I need to wait for my battery to drop at below 10% to charge it?

    THANKS!!!

You can charge it whenever you want.

It's healthier to let it drop lower though.

Get your facts right guys. Full discharge was relevant for the old NiCd batteries, but is at least not recommended and can be damaging for Lithium rechargeables.

All modern smartphone batteries have intelligent charging. You can charge them at any level and the circuits inside should handle it correctly. Based on my experience it seems to produce a longer overall life if the charge level is kept high and deep discharge is avoided in normal use. My phones rarely drop below 50%, and the 4 year old battery from a Bold9000 is still in daily use in my 9700 with no indications of degraded performance.

There is also the other factor to consider. If you run the battery too low and then some emergency occurs - like getting stranded on a remote roadside, or a prolonged blackout like north east US saw recently - your phone is not much help to you. Try to keep the battery as well charged as possible.

Jeck9220 it is ok to charge it at 35% or lower of course, but this is considered a deep discharge - and stresses the battery chemistry, cumulatively effecting it's maximum capacity.

I agree with Branta, but because I've read on it too. See the section B.3. or this recommendation here at 1.3
Battery University goes into much more technical detail if you want to read.

In short charge your phone frequently [ideally between 95-50%] and your battery should not need replacing and be ready whenever you need it.

Sorry Ben, but charging often would benefit you too.
